Rosie jumped when she walked through the door to find you sat on the sofa. She chuckled and put her hand on her chest as if she was trying to slow down her now fast heartbeat.
"Oh, you scared me, baby." She said before she kicked off her shoes and put her things onto the floor. "What are you doing down here? It's almost one in the morning. You're usually in bed by now."
You shrugged your shoulders wordlessly and Rose couldn't help but frown when she noticed how sad you seemed to be.
She let out a sad sigh when she remembered what this evening was supposed to hold. She sat down beside you and put her hand on your thigh, trying to get you to open up and hoping her touch would help make your worries fade away.
"I'm so sorry I had to cancel our date night. I feel really bad about it."
"It's not the first one, Rosie." You spoke and she could tell from the tone of your voice that you were close to crying.
"I know. I really am sorry. I promise, I'm going to make it all up to you when I have the time. It's just this comeback coming up is keeping us all so busy. I want to go on those dates with you, baby. I want that time with you but... I'm just so busy."
Her explanation didn't seem to make you feel any better. She understood. But usually, you understand, too.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Anything, my love. You know that you don't have to ask." She said and sent you a small smile when you looked at her, only to find you staring at her with tears in your eyes.
"Are you happy? With me?"
Her eyes went soft, her heart already beginning to break as those words left your lips.
"Of course I am. Why would you ask such a silly question."
"It's not silly, Rosie. I'm scared, okay? I keep worrying that maybe you're just unhappy with me."
She swallowed the lump in her throat. Of course, what you feared was the furthest thing from the truth.
But, oh, it broke her heart to see you so sad, to hear you tell her you're afraid she's not happy with you anymore.
"I love you a lot. We fight sometimes, you're not really into doing date nights and I understand the busy thing, I do, Rosie. Trust me. You're an idol, you're busy so often. I understand that. But... it's been a while since we've spent any time together. I worry that maybe, you're not as busy as you say you are. That, maybe, you just don't want to be with me anymore."
"Y/N..." She spoke softly and tsked before taking your hand into hers.
She brought it to her lips for a sweet kiss and let her lips linger for a second before she dropped it so she could pull you into her arms.
"How could I ever be unhappy with you? Baby, everyone has fights every now and then. That doesn't mean I'm unhappy." She said and scoffed at the end, wondering how you could ever think such a thing.
"You're the biggest source of happiness in my life. I can't even put into words how happy you make me, how much you've changed my life for the best. You're the one person that truly understands me. You have made me happier than I have ever been in my entire life, happier than I ever thought I could be."
"I'm sorry." You mumbled and she quickly shook her head and caressed your cheek.
"Don't be. It's okay. I'd rather you ask me this than bottle it up inside and convince yourself of something so untrue. I love you more than anything in this world. You are my entire world. You make me so, so happy. Please don't ever think differently."
You nodded and set your forehead on hers.
"Screw this. I'm taking tomorrow off."
"Rosie,"
"Don't." She interrupted and pressed her index finger onto your lips. "Don't argue. You're going to be sick and I'm going to spoil you. We'll have a date night here. We'll cook,"
You raised your eyebrows in amusement, knowing that part definitely wasn't happening.
She laughed and you did the same, causing her smile to grow.
"We'll get something delivered."
You laughed again and she stared into your eyes with her own sparkly ones.
"And we'll have a date night inside. We'll build a pillow fort and watch movies and cuddle. We'll stuff our faces with food and enjoy a cozy day inside. Just you and me."
Just then, she heard the paws on the stairs as Hank came down.
"Sorry." She said to Hank before looking back at you and saying, "You, me, and Hank."
You giggled and pressed your lips onto hers.
"I don't want you to get into trouble or miss anything important."
"Nothing is more important to me than you. Trust me, I'll be fine. The girls always have my back. What are they going to do anyway? Fire me?" She giggled and kissed your nose softly.
"Don't be sad anymore. No more silly thoughts like that. You are the only reason I'm happier than I've ever been before. Don't ever forget that. I love you lots, okay? To the moon and back again."
You hugged her tight and rested your cheek on her shoulder, relieved that you got all that off your shoulders.
"I love you more, Rosie."
"I don't think that's possible, my love. I love you most." She smiled as she rubbed your back.
Everything felt right again. You felt so much better. You just hope she knows that she's the reason you're happier than you've ever been, too.
