The morning after our tree house trip.

"Morning mom..", I greeted my mom when I saw her cooking breakfast while all of the people in our house were still asleep. It's 6 am. I woke up really early today even though we slept in late last night. I am feeling good today.

My mom smiled at me and put the plates of scrambled eggs aside. "Good morning dear. Why are you up so early? I just started cooking breakfast"

"I don't know, I woke around 5am and I couldn't go back to sleep. Lisa is still asleep though. I don't wanna wake her up. She's not much of a morning person" I said smiling from ear to ear while I hugged my mom tight.

"Spill it kid. Are you going to tell me something? What happened last night? What time did you come home?" she asked hugging me back tightly, smiling too.

"We came home a bit late, around 2am. I brought her to the tree house mom", I told her shyly when we broke from the hug.

She was a bit shocked about what I said. "Wow, really? Oh, hon, I am so proud of you. I thought you're going to the beach when you said favorite place. You finally had the courage to go back there huh?" she said kissing my temple.

"Yes mom. I just had the feeling that I can do whatever when Lisa is with me. I took that opportunity last night. We don't often come here anyway. I thought I was ready, and I really was" I told her.

My mom just smiled and waited for me to continue. I started the story.

"It was a bit funny at first. I didn't know Lisa is afraid of the dark. She was scared to go to the forest. You know, it's a bit dark but she still trusted me to bring her over there. Then we went up the tree house. Mom..", I said tentatively, mom looked at me expectantly so I continued, "I told her everything about Li. I finally had the courage to share that story mom. I cried a lot and she held me and I felt really safe, and brave around her" I finished smiling.

"Aww honey, you found a gem in her. You are both lucky to have each other. How are you after telling the story?" she asked giving me a side hug.

"I felt great. We looked at the stars and I talked to Li. She even had a few words with him too. She talked to him too like they were old buddies. It's very endearing watching her talk to him sincerely. She promised him that she will take care of me and protect me. And also mom.." I debated whether Lisa wants me to tell my family about what I found out last night. But I want my parents to know that my girlfriend really has a golden heart.

"Is there anything else dear? You sound unsure about what you're going to tell me.." she said furrowing her eyebrows.

"I'm just not sure if Lisa wants to let other people know but I want to share something I've been wondering since childhood. I just found the answer last night. Do you remember the foundation that helped Li ask for a third opinion? And the kid that donated bone marrow?" I asked my mom.

"Yes honey. I won't forget the name of that foundation, Keira used to tell me good things about them. It's the Hope and Love Charity Foundation right?" she asked for confirmation.

"Yes, that's the one. And I found out that Lisa's parents were the one who started to help the foundation, it's part of their charity works mom" I told her and she was a bit shocked.

"Oh my..I don't know what to say about that. It was such a coincidence. I can tell that Lisa really came from a good family if they do things like that. Keira was so thankful for the foundation's help to their son. They didn't pay for anything else since they found them" mom shared and I just nodded giving her a tight lipped smile.
