59 - Decoy

We arrived safely and completely incognito in my penthouse. The teams went on with their normal posts. I assigned Tzuyu and Seulgi to be our main duo to relieve Chae and Jisoo when needed. They are the frontline shadows of the team.

When all were set back to normal, I went out with Jisoo and Chae went with Jen to training. Jen wants to still join me in my meeting with Peyton and Alex but I advised her to just do her training instead. I told her that I will just update her about it tonight.

We arrived in Peyton's training camp after half an hour of travel with Jisoo on my side.

"Miss Manoban, great to see you. How's everything?" Peyton asked once we were a few meters away from him.

I smiled at him but deep inside I wanna punch his square face. I can somehow tell that Mino was telling the truth that Peyton is the mole. Chae and Jisoo also already suspected that even before Mino told us. We think it's either Alex or Peyton, or both.

"Good. Everything is okay so far. No threats or anything. We haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. You're teams are doing great. How about your investigation? I hope we have new leads about the case" I said.

He smiled and said, "That's why we're here for a meeting Miss Manoban. We have new leads as to where our main suspect is. Come on, let's start the meeting. Alex is already inside the conference room waiting for us"

I nodded and followed him inside. They tried to stop Jisoo from coming inside but I told them that she should be inside even if she's not a high ranking officer. She's my personal bodyguard and she should know firsthand what we are dealing with. They didn't argue with me anymore.

Alex just nodded at me in greeting and I nodded back acknowledging her presence.

Peyton started, "So, last time we had a meeting, we already know the identity of the person but we don't know his whereabouts. We have someone in the inside working undercover and he has been really helpful in tracking where their unknown boss is. We found out that the boss they're working for is in Florida. He runs a big cartel there and that is his main site. He only goes to other sites when needed. He's trying to lay low for a couple of months since we were able to trace him that time. Our asset however doesn't know how he looks like right now because there is a big possibility that he already underwent another surgery and went on a different identity again"

He paused for a while silently asking if I have questions so far. I have a lot in mind that I can ask him but not all those questions should be asked out loud so I settled with, "What's your next plan? How can we confirm your asset's information?"

Alex spoke this time. "We have a very reliable asset and his identity can't be compromised for now. We double checked, triple checked his reports and it all made sense. We tracked a person named Lucio Tevez in Miami, Florida who owns a big cartel and we were able to trace his whereabouts a few months back until this week. It all points to the same places and time in our records of our main suspect. He is the one we are looking for. The only problem is, like what Peyton said, he might have a new identity now as well as face. So we are planning on sending a team there to closely monitor this person. We need to go blind for now but I'm confident that our team can ID who the boss is, if they observe closely. They are highly trained for this job Miss Manoban. So you don't have to worry a lot, we will get this man in no time."

I thought for a while. Then I said, "Okay, I trust you guys about this. You know what's the best thing to do. Can you send me all the files you have on this man? I want to know everything about him. I can't just let you guys do all the work. Maybe I know him or maybe I don't. But I want to know who the enemy is"
