72 - Reliever

Today is the day.

I woke up earlier than usual. 5 in the morning to be exact. I can't say I'm not nervous about the plan. But I can't show my nerves because Lisa will back out of it in a snap. I tried to convince her last night to go with it as much as I was convincing myself. This is for everyone. This is for us. I can do it.

For us. This is my mantra for today.

I cooked breakfast even before my girlfriend woke up. She just woke up an hour after I left bed. It's a little over 6 AM now.

"Hey babe.. You left me in bed" she said groggily pulling me in a hug once she reached the kitchen where I'm preparing breakfast.

"I want to cook for you. I haven't done this in a while. I hope you don't mind eating a little less tasty food" I tried to lighten the mood and she smiled sweetly.

"I will eat everything you make even if it's just boiled water" she giggled still hugging me from the back.

"You don't actually eat water silly" I said also giggling.

We ate breakfast together in silence. Probably both thinking about what's going to go down today. When the silence seemed to thicken, she spoke in a hush tone.

"I'm nervous about today babe. I hope all goes according to plan. We have very little margin for error" she said. Worry all over her face. She didn't even try to hide it from me.

I sighed. "I am nervous too but we have to do this baby. Think positive. We need to be on our best senses today. We can do this okay?"

She nodded and gave me a tight lipped smile. I kissed her to wipe off a bit of her worries. She did smile a bit brighter after that.

"I don't know what I will do without you. I'm getting my strength from you because you're all I have. I love you" she said sincerely.

My heartbeat doubled when she said that. I felt mixed emotions. I feel really loved and overwhelmed as well as my heart aches for the thought of this wonderful human being without anyone in her life aside from me and a few people not related to her at all. I can't let this precious gem down. I will do my best to anchor her and keep her and myself together because right now, I seem to be her rock.

"I love you too baby. We're in this together. I will not leave you in any way. We'll get passed this, I promise" I gave her the assurance she needs to hear. But I myself am not sure if I can fulfill that promise. Her sanity for what's about to happen is more important for today. I will worry about fulfilling that promise later.

We went through our usual morning routines when we're on our days off. It's 8AM when I heard her talking to Peyton on the other line.

"Yes. I'm sorry to call this early. I just called Kim Jisoo to have her day off today. I'm not sure if I did the right decision. But can you have some eyes on her?" she said doing her part of the plan.

She paused for a while, listening to whatever Peyton said.

"Of course. That will be a relief if you can do that.. Yes.. Can you also meet me today if you have the chance?... Oh, that's okay... Yes it's fine. Thank you. Keep me posted.. Okay bye" she said letting out a big breath after ending the call.

I waited for her to tell me what's up.

"So?" I asked shortly.

"I think he bought it. He said he's going to have Jisoo monitored. He said it's a good thing I gave Chu the day off. And he can't meet with us today but he's sending someone to give us their side of the update. He said he was thinking about doing that anyway. He clearly doesn't trust Jisoo now. We're right" she said.
