Chapter 53- Karmas A B*tch

*Adrians PoV*

She was being abused.

How didn't I realise?

God, am I that fucked up?

How didn't I realise?

She kept this hidden all along, from everyone, from me.

Again, how didn't I realise?

Continuously, while she was fast asleep in my arms from the exhaustion of describing each event, I pressed kisses to her little forehead like as if she'd disappear if I didn't.

The tears wouldn't stop. I didn't want her to see me in this state ever, but they would only stream down my soaked cheeks from the sorrow that I absorbed from her.

Those images of her bruises flashed in my mind from how severe they were. How extreme they appeared, and they were painted black and blue. How she covered them so well with that mask of hers and those excuses that I couldn't look through.

I wanted to heal every one of them with my kisses, tattooing every pain with nothing but with my love and tenderness.

My eyes peered down at her sweet little face, noticing that her sunflower had wilted from the dullness in her pale skin. But I'd make sure that I'd drive those clouds away just so she could finally face the sun again.

She woke up from her deep slumber and titled her head to look up at me with a small smile, squinting her eyes. "Adrian?" Her voice came out thick with sleep.

"I'm here, Weirdo." I dipped my head down to brush my nose against her button one.

She's perfect.

"Don't cry." She dried my eyes with the pad of her thumb, and did the unexpected by pecking my cheeks, warming my heart.

"Go back to sleep," I requested, and she obliged by snuggling closer up to me, until her eyes completely shut again.

My body went into protection mode when she fell asleep in my arms, gripping tightly onto my hoodie. I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist, and vowed to keep her safe from now on.

I titled my head back on the headboard and flickered my eyes at a thousand cranes that were flying over us, even they seemed to droop. Probably because they needed Milas satisfaction and energy to regenerate them. She was their sun in the solar system that they were in, but right now their sun was dimming.

And the reason for that was all because of Nolan.

That son of a bitch!

I've always had a bad vibe from that small dick of a bastard, particularly when Mila would seem uncomfortable when she was dating him. Never did I do anything as I thought that it was her decision to be with him, who was I to decide who she dated?

But now I wished I said something, dragged her away from him, before he could land a hand on her.

Unfortunately for him, even from the first day I met her, even though I was harsh to her, I claimed her whether she was single or not. She was always mine, but she just didn't realise.
