A few days later, Fred, George, Lee, Angelina and I walk into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom for the first time this year. We sit down Fred and George sit at a desk together whilst Angelina and me at the desk next to Fred and George with Lee sat at the desk behind us. I look down at the desk to see a stack of parchments in front of us. "W... what's all of this about?" I ask Agelina whiering to her.

"I don't know," she tells me and I shake my head looking down at the parchment but I look up almost immediately after because a door opens and Gilderoy Lockhart steps out. "Me!" he exclaims. "Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defense League, and five-time winner of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile Award – but I don't talk about that. I didn't get rid of the Baron Banshee by smiling at her!"

I roll my eyes and lean over to Angelina. "No. It's not as if you didn't tell us that in your book!" I whisper to her sarcastically which makes Angelina snicker slightly and we both smile. "I see you've all bought a complete set of my books – well done. I thought we'd start today with a little quiz. Nothing to worry about – just to check how well you've read them, how much you've taken in – you have thirty minutes – start – now!"

I pick up my quill, dip it in the ink, look down at my paper, read and begin to write.

1. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favourite colour? Lilac

2. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition? Rid the world of evil and market my range of hair-care potions

3. What, in your opinion, is Gilderoy Lockhart's greatest achievement to date? Teaching at Hogwarts.

On and on it goes with me writing answers, over three sides of paper right down to:

54. When is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday, and what would his ideal gift be? January 26

A few minutes after I finish, Lockhart collects the papers and rifled through them in front of the class. "Tut, tut – hardly any of you remembered that my favourite colour is Lilac. I say so in Year with the Yeti. And, who put my ideal birthday gift would be hair gel and hair colouring?" he asks and I cover my mouth, laughing. I turn my head to see Fred and George high fiving under the table so I lean over to them. "It was one of you, wasn't it?" I ask them whispering and they both nod their heads. I shake my head at them, still laughing. "I clearly state in chapter 12 of Wandering with Werewolves that my ideal birthday gift would be harmony between all magic and non-magical peoples," he tells us and I roll my eyes before sticking up my hand. "Ah, Miss...?" he trails off asking for my name.

"Potter. Lily Potter, Professor," I answer him.

"Right. Yes, Miss Potter?" he asks wanting to know my question.

"What exactly does this have to do with Defense Against the Dark Arts because this test was just all about you and nothing about defending ourselves," I ask him.

"Ah. Well, I wanted to test your knowledge for I wanted to see how much you have taken in from my books and how many of you read them and my looking at it, not many of you did," he tells us and I scoffed silently.

Before I know it, the hour lesson is over and I'm sat on the red sofa in the common room with Fred and George whilst Lee and Angelina sat in front of the fire. "So, what's going on with you today?" Angelina asks me and I look at her confused.

"What are you talking about?" I ask her confused.

"You've been rolling your eyes quite a lot today so what's going on?" Ange asks me and I shrug my shoulder. "Guess the twins are rubbing off on me," I shrug before grabbing my book from my bag along with my glasses, opening the glasses case, putting them on, opening the book before beginning to read.

"W... Wait. When did you get reading glasses?" Fred asks me, taking my glasses from me and putting them on. "Oi. Give them back," I say, taking the glasses from him and putting them back on my face. "And I got them the last few days of the holiday. I just... haven't been comfortable wearing them. They make my eyes look all liney."

I scrunch my nose up in disgust which makes the glasses fall down my nose slightly when I unscrunch my nose. "Hey, no. You don't have lines in your eyes," Fred tells me and I glare at him.

"Well, I think I do so I don't care what you lot think. Not let me read," I tell them before turning back to my book again.
