In no time at all, Defence Against the Dark Arts has become most people's favourite class. Only Draco Malfoy and his gang of Slytherins have something bad to say about Professor Lupin. "Look at the state of his robes." Malfoy would say in a loud whisper as Professor Lupin passes the Slytherin table in the Great Hall. "He dresses like our old house-elf."
However, most people don't care that Professor Lupin's robes are patched and frayed, yet with Lily, every time she heard Malfoy say anything bad about her godfather, she would take the opportunity to walk past Malfoy and his gang and whisper, "five points from Slytherin for disrespecting a teacher."
This would put Malfoy in a horrid mood for the remainder of the time that he's in the hall. Lily might be misusing her Prefect power, but she couldn't help it. She hates seeing students disrespecting teachers and she wouldn't just sit around and watch it happen so she would do something about it.
In the Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons, once they finished recapping Boggarts, they move onto protective enchantments, ghouls and then different defensive spells.
At the start of October, however, Lily stands in front of the bulletin board, looking through the notices for the school so far this year. First years have started their flying lessons with the Hufflepuffs and Madam Hooch now, so she can take that off the board, as it's part of her Prefect duty to make sure the board is up to date. And with the space on the board, she can put up the notice that everyone from the third year and upwards has been waiting for.

She smiles to herself before turning back to the common room and heading to the desk in the corner, to finish off her homework for History of Magic, where she has to write an essay on the Giant Wars.
Not long after she has finished the essay and is now sat down on the red armchair by the fire, reading her copy of Little Women, a pair of hands cover my eyes. "Seriously?" Lily asks, huffing. Shutting the book, so that the page she is on is marked by her index finger. After a few seconds, the hands move from Lily's eyes, letting her see again. She turns her head to see Fred stood by the side of the chair, covered in sweat and in his Quidditch uniform. "So, what's happened?" Fred asks her, making Lily look confused.
"What do you mean?" she asks.
"Everyone's excited about something. So, what is it?" he asks.
"Oh, the first Hogsmeade trip is on Halloween." she tells him.
"Excellent." he says. "I need to visit Zonko's. I'm nearly out of Stink Pellets."
He grabs onto Lily's hand before dragging her out of the common room and up to the fifth-year boy's dormitories, where all her friends are. "Why am I here?" Lily asks, sitting down on Fred's bed. "Well, you've been a little out of it lately. Is there something that you would like to tell us?" Angelina asks her.
"Guys, I'm fine. I'm just... I've just been tired lately. But I'm fine." Lily says, laughing at the last part and looking at them.
"Really. I'm fine."
"Alright. Whatever you say." Fred says before beginning to take his wet Quidditch uniform off as Angelina, Lee and George walk out of the room. "Hey! Don't leave me in here with him!" Lily yells towards the three as the door shuts.
"Hey. I'm not that bad, am I?" Fred asks her, making Lily turn to Fred before immediately looking down at her lap as she plays with her fingers. "N... No. Not really. I'm... I'm just gonna go and get changed. I'll see you down in the common room." she stutters before rushing out of the room and into her dormitory, shutting the door, rushing over to her bed and falling back down on her bed and staring at the ceiling of the room. "Why? Why do I have to be so attracted to the boy?" she asks herself before turning over on the bed and letting her head fall off the bed. "Ugh!"
After a while of complaining to herself, she finally decides on getting dressed and heading down to the common room to hang out with her friends for the rest of the night, yet she couldn't concentrate for the entire night. All she could think about is what she saw when Angelina, George and Lee left the room.
