As December rolls around, Professor McGonagall comes around with a sheet for all of the people who are staying for Christmas. Fred, George, Harry, Ron and a lot of other people put their names down but Lilith didn't. She always spends her Christmas holidays with her Uncle Remus but this year, she isn't so lucky.

Lily's P.O.V:

I sit in the Great Hall at lunch as the owls fly in. I notice Remus' owl, Prongs, drop a letter in front of me before landing beside my plate and nipping at my sandwich. I open the letter slowly but my face immediately drops.

Dear My dearest Lily,

I don't exactly know how to tell you this but I know you don't want to hear it but I have to tell you. I'm sorry but you can't come home for Christmas. The full moon is on Christmas Day and I don't want to ruin your day whilst I'm hiding in the cellar all day to stop myself from hurting you.

I'm so sorry about this but I'm doing this for your health. After what happened when you were seven, I can't risk hurting you again. I'm so sorry again. I promise that I'll make it up to you.

Love

Your Uncle Remus.

I finish reading the letter as tears drip down my face. Getting up from the table, I rush out of the Great Hall and head down an empty corridor before I lean up against a wall and sliding down it. "No. I don't want to stay here for Christmas. I want to see you," I mutter as I bring my knees up to my chest and tears start flowing down my face faster now.

Fred's P.O.V:

George and I walk into the Great Hall after coming back down from the common room but I notice that Lily's not at the table. She normally spends all lunch in the Great Hall so where is she? George and I look at each other in confusion but we spot Angelina at the table so we walk up to her and sit down. "Where's Lily gone now?" I ask her and she looks at me.

"Oh, well she got a letter from her Remus and after about a minute or so, she runs out of the Great Hall with tears flowing down her face. I don't know where she's gone," Angelina tells us.

"And you didn't think about going after her?" I ask her.

"Well, I knew that you two would want to know what happened so it seemed more logical for me to stay here and let you two deal with it," she tells us before I look at Fred and we run out of the Great Hall and start trying to find Lily.

Lily's P.O.V:

"Lily? What happened?" I hear someone ask. I look up and see a blurred image of Fred in front of me but I shake my head, letting it sink into my knees again. "Hey," he whispers, pulling me into a hug. "What happened?"

"Uncle Remus isn't letting me come home for Christmas," I mutter.

"Then what's wrong?" he asks me.

"I always go home for Christmas and this is the first Christmas that I'm not spending with him. And the fact that I'm majority not with Remus during the summer and this is the only time that I get to spend with him," I tell Fred.

"I know you're sad that you can't see Lupin until next summer but I promise you, you'll have the best Christmas ever."

**************

After about three weeks later, I'm sat in the Great Hall at lunch with Fred and George. The Gryffindor table is nearly empty because of everyone who is going home for Christmas is gone. "Isn't this nice? We finally get to spend the Christmas holidays with our favourite Potter," George asks Fred as I continue to eat between them.

"That is right, George. It is nice to spend time with you, Lilith," Fred says, directing it at me.

"Right, and I'm stuck here with you two idiots for the next two weeks," I tell the boys, scoffing.

"You have injured me," George overexaggerates.

"Oh, piss off," I tell them, getting off the bench and walking away from the table and heading back up to the Gryffindor common room.

**************

I sit alone, in my bedroom, for the first time in months. Everyone in my dorm has gone home for the holidays; Angelina, Katie and Lizzie. It's normally empty this time of the year but I'm stuck here this year with no one in the room. To be honest, it feels kind of weird because the room is normally noisy but it's eerily quiet and I don't like it.

Sighing, I get off of my bed and walk over to the girl's beds and shut their curtains before walking out of the room and down to the common room.
