A week later, Lily is sat in the courtyard on the fountain, a scarf around her next due to the cold weather, Angelina sat next to her. "Oh come on. How has Fred not asked you to the Yule Ball? It's been a week and he's not done anything," Angelina complains. "I mean, it only took George a few days with me but you and Fred have been in love with each other for years and I would've thought that Fred would jump at the chance to ask you out on a date."

"Angelina. Two things. One, Fred is certainly not in love with me. And two, stop comparing my love life with yours and George's. And besides," Lily says, grabbing her things. "Just because Fred hasn't asked me, doesn't mean that he won't. Now, I've got to go to the library," Lily snaps before getting up from the fountain and walking back into the castle.

Lily sits in the library, Fred sat next to her. Apart from the fact that Fred has been contemplating and planning on how to ask Lily to the Yule Ball, there hasn't been any strain on their friendship. Yet, for Lily, she is still in shock that she somehow managed to convince Fred to study with her in the library. She would never had thought that Fred would be in the library, studying at that. He is one of those people who wouldn't be caught dead if he ever put a foot into the library. However, somehow, Lily managed it.

Lily sits with her hands in her hair, groaning to herself. Fred notices this and takes Lily's books from under her and shutting them. He puts them into her bag before doing the same with her. "Come with me," Fred says, grabbing onto Lily's hand as he grabs her bag before dragging her out of the library.

"Fred. Where are we going?" Lily asks Fred but there's no response from him as he continues to pull Lily out of the castle. Nothing is said between the two until they get down to to lake and Fred forces Lily to sit down whilst he stands in front of her. "Fred? Wh..." Lily begins to ask but Fred shussh's her before beginning to pace.

"Lily, uh... you're my best friend and I know that you're stressed and I would prefer to see you unwind and relax for one night and I don't want to go with anyone else so..." Fred breathes and comes to a stop in front of her. "Would you want to go to the Yule Ball with me?"

Lily's face breaks into a wide smile before beginning to nod her head. "Yes. I will go to the Yule Ball with you," Lily says, standing up and pulling Fred into a hug.

"So... what happened?" Angelina asks Lily later that night, her cheeks having a rosy hue over them.

"Well, we were sat in the library, studying and all of a sudden, Fred takes my things from me and drags me out of the library before sitting me down at the tree by the black lake," Lily tells Angelina.

"And you had no indication of this happening? Like, you didn't know he would ever do this?" Angelina asks.

"Yes," Lily says causing Angelina to squeal.

"Oh, my God. This is even more amazing," Angelina squeals making Lily laugh and fall back onto her bed.

"I know," Lily breathes out, turning around and resting her head on her arm, her smile turning into a frown slightly.

"What's wrong, Lily?" Angelina asks, noticing this frown on her best friends face.

"It's just... all week I've been wanting to go to the Yule Ball with Fred and wishing and hoping that he would ask me. But, when he did ask me, he said that I'm his best friend," Lily begins before propping herself up even more by leaning on her side and holding herself up by her hand. "And that makes me wonder if that's all he'll see me as."

"Oh, honey," Angelina says, getting up from her bed and pulling Lily in for a hug. "It's gonna be okay," Angelina whispers as Lily begins to let a few tears fall from her face.

"I can't keep pining over him if all he sees me as is his best friend," Lily cries, tears now continuously falling from her eyes.

"Shhhh. Let it out, Lils. Let it out," Angelina says, stroking Lily's head to try and soothe her.

Soon enough, the cries from Lily cease and as Angelina looks down, she notices Lily now asleep, so, she slowly moves Lily's head from her lap and onto her pillow before quietly leaving the room to allow Lily to sleep. As Angelina gets down into the common room, she finds Fred, George and Lee sitting around the fire and as she gets over the sofa, she grabs one of the pillows before hitting Fred over the head with it and sitting down on the chair. "Ow! What was that for?" Fred asks, rubbing his head.

"You're an idiot," Angelina tells Fred making him confused.

"What have I done?" he asks, confusion written over his face.

"Lily's just cried herself to sleep because of your idiocy. She thinks that you only think of her as a best friend, nothing else. So you had better do something about it before I kill you," Angelina warns, pointing her finger at Fred making him put his hands up in surrender.

"Okay. I will."

I'm sorry. I know you will hate me for this chapter and I'm hugely sorry about that.

I would also just like to thank all of you for sticking around for so long. I didn't mean for this to end up being a slow burn book between Fred and Lily and I was initially going to get them together after their first kiss in their third year, however, as you all know, I didn't and from then on, I kept thinking that I was going to get them together soon and it's been two years in the making for this and I promise you, that you all won't be disappointed when they do end up getting together.

Now, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter.
