Kita likes a lot of things.

He likes having a good routine every day.

He likes the simplicity in his life.

He also likes his team a lot, but he's never said it straightforwardly.

Sometimes there are people on his team that are particularly annoying.

Take Atsumu for example.

His brother is tolerable, but he's another thing.

Especially when he kept ranting about a boy from the training camp.

Kita tried to ignore it, but Atsumu made sure everyone knew.

Though, it was a huge difference between hearing about it and actually meeting him.

Hearing about him from Atsumu, you'd think he's a typical timid boy with skills.

When you actually meet him, it's like meeting a gift from the heavens.

At least that was what Kita's first impression of him was.

His raven hair swayed perfectly with every move he made.

His hands were well-taken care of, and Kita couldn't help but wonder how they'd feel.

And most importantly, those eyes.

He thought Atsumu was just exaggerating when he said the boy's eyes were as perfect as the midnight sky.

He was sure those things only existed in a fantasy world.

But he was wrong.

Oh how wrong he was.

The boy's eyes highlighted everything about him.

Sometimes he wondered why they looked a little sad.

He wanted to cheer him up right away.

But when they played, it completely disappeared.

Kageyama Tobio was out of the world.

He thought Atsumu was crazy.

This boy just took things to a whole new level.

He wasn't even sad or annoyed when they lost.

He was proud that he could play against him.

He insisted to his team that they watch the rest of the nationals.

And that only drew him more towards the boy.

"Kageyama-Kun, you should take care of yourself. Don't forget your water bottle."

Those were the first words he said to him.

But the glint in his eyes made it seem like so much more.

The warm thank you he received made it even better.

From Atsumu, he'd learned the boy's number.

He was actually surprised that Kageyama responded to him.

So of course, as a parental figure, he taught Kageyama about stranger-danger.

Still, he was very pleased.

He liked how Kageyama could act like an actual child sometimes.

He'd suddenly developed a habit of taking care of him.

Every day, he would send him reminders to eat and to sleep, and to not overwork.

Kageyama would always respond with kindness and gratitude.

Sometimes, Kageyama would ask for a call.

And of course, Kita couldn't decline.

They'd talk about their teammates.

How annoying they could be,

How talented some of them were,

It was fun and all.

Sometimes they would drift off topic,

And Kageyama would reveal some dumb things he did.

Kita always had a laugh listening to them.

But he liked it better when Kageyama laughed.

It truly sounded like what he thought Kageyama was.

A gift from the heavens.

He was disappointed when he wouldn't be able to play against him next year.

But they promised they would always talk everyday.

And that was enough for Kita.

Because...

.

.

.

He was Kita's happiness.
