Me, the boys, and Zoe had been in L.A. for only a few hours, but we were already at the hotel and multiple bottles deep. Even though we were leaving to go to the club that Dre had rented out in two hours, we still wanted to drink and get fucked up before hand, just so we could really enjoy ourselves. I mean, it is my birthday, why shouldn't I get as fucked up as possible? From right now, until three in the afternoon on Sunday, I have zero responsibilities, and I'm gonna take full advantage. Angel's holdin' down everything at home, so I ain't gotta worry 'bout nothin'. Honestly, thank god for her. She's always got me, which is exactly what I need right now.
"Ya want any, dawg?" Rufus asked as he held out a bag of mushrooms towards me.
I shook my head, licking the excess Bombay from my lips. "Nah, I got a piss test when we get back." He nodded, sticking his fingers into the bag and pulling out a few stems for himself.
"How much longer you on probation for again?" Von asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Another fuckin' year."
"Yo, my boys got one more year then he's free!" Proof exclaimed, obviously excited as he threw his heavy arm over my shoulder and roughly pulled me into him.
Laughing, I tried my best to escape his tight hold. "Man, fuck off." I said in between my chuckles as I yanked myself away.
"Then Angel's free too!" Zoe interjected, matching Proof's excited tone.
"Is she? She ain't off her's yet?" Swifty asked, confused.
"Nah, she's got another year too. I think she's off a month before me." I replied, finally cracking open the child proof pill bottle holding my Valium. I don't know why they make these things so fuckin' hard to open all the time.
"Mhm!" Zoe said again as she took a sip of her drink. "October 1st, 2002."
"Yeah," I nodded in agreement, chucking two of the pills into the back of my throat. "I'm off November 1st, so a month difference."
"Man, that's crazy. Almost the end of an era." Proof said as he jokingly reminisced. "You two off ya Bonnie 'n Clyde shit."
We all laughed. "Fuck you, we wasn't ever on our Bonnie 'n Clyde shit." I said.
"Now they're onto their mommy and daddy shit." Zoe added, a mischievous smirk painting across her face.
I laughed. "Yo, just ya'll wait 'til you pop out ya first kid."
Zoe's face soured. "We ain't havin' no damn kids."
"Really?!" Von's neck cranked towards them, surprised.
Denaun shook his head, a disgusted look taking over his facial features. "Hell nah, never."
"Shit, how come?" Proof asked.
They both shrugged and exchanged glances with one another. "We just ain't into havin' kids like that." Denaun elaborated.
"Yeah, I'm cool with just bein' an auntie to Desmond." Zoe agreed.
I rolled my eyes playfully. "For the last time, it's gon' be a fuckin' girl. I know it is."
"I don't know, dawg. Angel seems way too fuckin' sure 'bout it." Denaun said again.
I laughed. "Yeah! 'Cause she always thinks she's right!"
"Mhm, 'cause she usually is." Zoe said with attitude. It's true. She is usually right. Doesn't mean I can't be annoyed by it, though.
"Aight, you losers ready?" Paul asked as he walked into the living room, making himself known considering none of us had any idea he was even here until he showed his face.
