As Christmas day was coming to a close, I had just put Brooklyn down to sleep. After a long day of missing Des, only talking to him once, and just wanting so badly to be with my baby, I definitely needed some niece and auntie time, which Aidan and Jill happily gave to me considering how incredibly tired they were.

"Night baby girl, sleep well, okay?" Kissing her head, I turned to make my way out of her room.

"Night, auntie. I love you."

Smiling, I turned back towards her before flipping off the light. "I love you too." Gently shutting her door, I continued on my way down the hall, directly towards the living room where I could still see the bright light of the TV glaring. "Yo, you headin' out?" Aidan asked as him and Jill were laid out on the couch with my dad half asleep in the large rocking chair.

I nodded. "Yeah, I guess so. I'ma drive dad home then go to bed, I'm so fuckin' tired."

"Aight, sounds good." Aidan responded once more. "Oh, yo, I wanted to ask ya, did you listen to that new record Marshall put out?"

Drawing my brows together, I shook my head. "I thought it was just a best hits album?"

"Yeah, nah, it is, but he added an unreleased track to it. When I'm Gone, I think it's called?" He paused briefly as he thought about it. "Anyway, there's a whole music video for it and everything."

"Really? What's it sound like?"

"It's dope, I mean I like it anyway. But it's interesting 'cause he's talkin' 'bout how he works all the time, and the pills, and the kids, like it sounds like he knows where his faults are-"

"If he knew where his faults were then he'd fuckin' fix 'em and not just talk to the world 'bout it." I harshly interjected.

"Yeah, I know, that's what ain't make any sense to me? And he's even got a chick that looks exactly like you in the video."

"Shit, really? Is she supposed to be me?" I asked in slight shock.

He shrugged. "Yeah, I guess so. He does talk 'bout you on the track, so it makes sense."

"Well why ain't he talkin' to me 'bout this shit?! Why's he talkin' to everyone else 'bout it?!"

"I don't know, maybe he's too bitter to admit this shit to you-"

"What? That I'm right?"

"Yeah." He nodded.

"Mhm, well it wouldn't be the first time."

"Y'know, I do gotta say though, in the music video... He kinda looks like he's been gainin' weight." Aidan replied awkwardly.

"What?" My eyebrows knitted together once more. "Like he's been workin' out, you mean?"

"Nah, the opposite. Like he ain't been workin' out at all."

"Really?" I asked in that same confused voice. "He looked good when I saw him."

"Yeah, but that was what? Six months ago?"

"Five."

Aidan shrugged. "Yeah, well, you can gain a decent amount of weight in five months."

"I guess so, but that's so weird? Marshall always works out."

"Not anymore, apparently." He casually stated once more as he began moving himself from off of the couch. "I don't know, Angel, maybe ya should call him-"

"Nope!" I abruptly replied, my feet marching towards my dad before shaking him lightly to wake him up. "Dad, get up, we gotta go." I whispered, earning a gentle groan before his eyes began fluttering open.
