Walking through the airport as fast as my legs would take me, I trailed closely on the heels of my five body guards as Paul was damn near shoulder to shoulder with me. "You know, you're not ever gonna get home if you trip from following them so closely behind." Paul gestured towards the huge men in front of us. "Gonna have to send your ass to the hospital." He joked.
"I just wanna get home, man. I'm dyin' to see Angel. I'm sure the kids are probably asleep by now, but I just wanna sleep in my own fuckin' bed."
"Yeah, yeah, you'll get there. Just relax." As he brushed me off, we made our way through the large sliding glass doors. Immediately laying eyes on the three different SUVs to take me and some of the other crew back home, I quickly hopped in, completely forgetting to even say bye to Paul as the driver piled my bags into the trunk.
Slamming the door behind me, I waited patiently for a few moments before the driver finally came back, sliding into the drivers seat. "Your residence, Mr. Mathers?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yeah, thanks."
Only seconds later we were off, and immediately a giant wave of relief hit me. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about finally being back home, in my own city, that's so calming to me. I didn't even realize the amount of stress I had been holding in my body from just being away, but it was definitely noticeable as soon as I was able to look around and recognize where the fuck I was for once.
Passing by building after building, my excitement to see the kids and Angel quickly became amplified. Fuck, I can't fuckin' wait to see them. I can't wait to get home and hug them all, I can't wait to kiss Angel, I just... I really fuckin' need them. I swear on my life I ain't never leavin' them again. Never. Not like this. Not where it almost damn near cost me my entire family. There ain't enough money in the world to get me to leave them again, and I will stand by that for fucking ever.
Finally, after forty five long minutes, we pulled up to the house. Hoping out as fast as I could, the driver got out with me to start giving me my stuff from the trunk. "Thanks, man! Have a good night!" I yelled as I quickly began barrelling up towards the steps. Dropping my bags, I fished around for my keys in my pocket. I can see the lights are on, I know Angel's still up, but if the kids aren't I don't wanna wake them by knocking or ringing the doorbell. As soon as I found them, I shoved them into the lock, turning it as fast as I could.
The door swung open, and immediately I could hear them all talking and laughing from what sounded like the living room. Slamming the door back shut, I garnered two high-pitched squeals. "Daddy?!" They both yelled.
I listened as Angel gasped. "Do ya think that's him?! Go see! Quick!"
Within an instant, the two sisters came zooming around the corner, both with huge smiles on their faces as they began to scream from excitement. I laughed as a big, wide, stupid grin painted across my face and bent down, knowing damn well they were about to jump on me and I needed to catch them. "DADDY!" They both screamed once again in unison.
I laughed again as I outstretched my arms. "Come here!" Immediately they both jumped on me at the exact same time, just how I knew they would, and I quickly caught them, squeezing them as tight to my body as I possibly could. "I missed ya two so much!" I exclaimed, swinging them around slightly as I planted firm kisses against both of their cheeks.
They giggled. "We missed you too, daddy!" Hailie yelled, tightening her hold around my neck.
"Go baby, go!" I heard Angel whisper quietly just as I was putting down both of the girls, and quickly, Des came cruising around the corner on all fours with a big smile that looked almost identical to Angels. He was giggling and laughing, and I couldn't believe how fuckin' big he's gotten since July!
