A/n: lured was pretty well received. So here's a little sequel. This is completely self indulgent and I do not expect this to do as well as my other stuff but fuck you I like sirens.

You were quite proud of L, a few years ago he told you he wanted to be a detective. And now he was solving the worlds hardest cases. And in relative secrecy too, no one ever saw his face.

Until this case. Kira they called him. For the first time L was showing his face to a taskforce.

For the first few months of the case things were running smoothly, he managed to come up with some excuse and sneak off every night. That moon goes down and he's no longer a human.

In the few years he'd been living with you he'd gotten used to pretending to be a human, but he still had that siren wonder about him. Everything on land was interesting. He still called dogs land seals, still forgot human names for things and occasionally he'd catch himself off in his own world singing songs and accidentally putting you into trances. And you did have to remind him to not hum that song stuck in his head too loudly or he'd accidentally start luring the taskforce to him.

Just sitting off to the side of the taskforce, admiring how proud you were of your half fish friend you hadn't even realised how dark it was getting until the cold breeze from the window knocked you from your daze. It was getting late, a bit too late.

"So of we assume he's killing to better a company then we just need to find what company is getting the beni-"

"L" you said.

"Hang on (y/n), so anyway-" he replied, invested in the case and his talk to the taskforce.

"L!" You said, a bit more sternly.

The taskforce all turned to look at you in confusion as did L.

"You maybe wanna check the time?" You said.

He looked out the window, seeing how dark it had gotten. His eyes widened in panic when he realised how close he was cutting it.

"Shi- uh- I'll be back" he stammered.

"But what about the ca-" Matsuda began.

L didn't respond, just jumped up and booked it out of the room.

"Wait L!" Aizawa called after him.

It was too late, he was off. The taskforce all gave each other confused looks. Hearing a thump upstairs, you knew what had happened. Looking to your for answers, the taskforce all seemed confused.

"Uh... daily important call" you lied, not so subtly rushing out the room.

Booking it upstairs after him, you came to find exactly what you thought. It'd gotten to late, the moon had come up and he was lying face down on the floor tail and all.

"Ouch" you laughed.

"I'm getting too used to human life apparently. I need to remember I'm a siren" he replied.

"Let's get you in some water..."

Picking him up under the arms, you struggled to drag him up the stairs to his room where he'd deliberately had a pool built on the balcony. Long tails means extra weight so he was significantly heavier as a siren.

"Ow your dragging my tail-" he complained.

"Well maybe if you'd kept an eye on the time..." you replied.

"I was focused on catching Kira"

"Clearly. God why is your tail so long?"

Never thought you'd be dragging a siren up some stairs while on a very dangerous murder case but here you are.

"Makes me swim faster, ow-" he said.

"Sorry, but I can't pick you up any other way when you're double your human length" You replied.

"(Y/n)? Are you with L?"

You and L froze for a second. What did Light want? Now was not a good time.

"Shit-" you whisper yelled, trying to drag L faster up the stairs.

"Ow- ow-" L complained.

"I'm sorry it's either that or become siren sushi!"

You could hear Lights footsteps approaching down the hall, and your heart rate picked up in panic.

"Damnit L lift your tail" you said under your breath.

"I'm trying!"

Finally getting to the door, you pushed it open with your foot and practically tossed L inside.

"Ow-"

"Sorry!"

Slamming it shut, just in time Light appeared behind you.

"Is L done? We need to finish this meeting" He said.

"Yeah... about that, somethings come up. You'll have to wait till tomorrow" you slightly panicked.

Light knew something was up, but he didn't know what. He gave you a suspicious look.

"What is this phone call anyway?" He asked.

"Um- classified case stuff unrelated to Kira" you said.

"Uh-huh... and it takes all night because?"

"Reasons..."

"And you're clearly hiding him because..."

"Like I said, it's classified"

It was silent for a moment, Lights suspicious gaze freaking you out a bit.

"You're not hiding this relationship well" he said.

"No it's just- I mean- we-" you stammered, caught off guard and now knowing how to respond.

"Look I don't wanna know what you two are doing- but every night is a bit extreme and kind of jeopardising the case here"

"THAT NOT-" You began, cutting yourself off with a sigh.

Well, he want wrong that there was a relationship there. But what he was suggesting definitely wasn't going on at night when he's got a long tail and all...

"Look I'll talk to him and see if he can reschedule these phone calls, but no promises" you replied, sticking to your story.

Lights gaze was still suspicious as he turned away.

"Alright. The taskforce won't like this" he replied, heading back down the stairs.

You sighed in relief he was gone, but also kind of annoyed at that last part. He was out here acting like he wasn't Kira...

Opening the door and stepping into the room, L sat on the floor impatiently waiting to be thrown into the pool.

"Thanks for the concussion" he joked.

"Look it was that for let Light see you. Sorry" you replied.

"It's fine, but drag me to the pool please"

Fulfilling his request, you dragged him over to the pool and dropped him in, now able to swim around and move freely, he was much more comfortable.

"Next time, keep track of how late it is" you said.

"I can live with that..." he replied.
