Monsters? part 2

A/n: actually kinda like the idea of a full AU for this tho,,,

There was never a dull day at monster high, something was always happening. From day one there's been some kind of gossip, event or big news. Most recently the hot gossip was the breakup of two of the rather popular students who'd been together for years. You did like to hear the tea in passing, but stayed out of it for the most part.

You'd spend most of your days when you weren't in class either in your dorm sleeping, or finding hidden spots around the massive and kind of cryptic school. Your beastie quickly became L, who also has a knack for exploring the place. Seems like meeting in the blocked off room was meant to be. Looking for him in the hallways after freak-onimics class, you ended up finding him stuffing things into his locker looking rather annoyed. Floating over to him so he wouldn't hear your footsteps, you crept up behind him.

"Boo!" You snickered.

He jumped, turning to face you and gave you a playful glare.

"I know that's a ghost thing but come on, really?" He replied.

"What's got you all huffed?"

He immediately groaned and turned back to his locker to swap his books for his wallet and dorm key.

"This damn shinigami in my gifted and talented classes. Light Yagami, he gets on my nerves" L sighed.

"Oh no, whats he done now?"

"For some reason he thinks we're competing for top of the class? I dunno. He just find any excuse to try and one-up me. That and he's an asshole in general"

"Yuck. Sounds annoying"

He closed and locked up his locker, done with classes for the day.

"I'm not even going to bother with him. Where to?" L said.

"Attic, I've heard rumours" you replied.

"What about?"

The two of you turned to head down the halls and up the staircase several floors to get to your destination. Passing by other monsters finishing up classes for the day, putting things away in their lockers and meeting up with friends.

"Apparently there's old as fuck documents and pictures from when the school was first built. If they aren't fossilised by now I wanna see what the place was like all those years ago" you explained.

"Well the school is hundreds of years old, so there's probably some cool stuff in there. I'm in" he replied.

Turning the corner, you immediately came to a halt when you almost ran into someone rounding the corner too. Unfortunately, it was the man who had been pissing of L just a while ago.

"Woah! Why do you walk so quiet?" Light sapped.

"I float actually" you sassed.

You'd seen this guy around the halls before. He was 'dating' the other shinigami Misa. Who was a lot nicer and more fashionable than he was. His skin was grey, he had sharp teeth and black feathered wings, markings around his eyes that looked kind of like crooked eyeliner.

"Can you just let us go please? I don't wanna deal with your shit today Light" L sighed.

"Who's the ghost? Your ghoul-friend?" Light replied.

"I have a name actually. And you can't kill me with it because I'm already dead" you jumped in.

You understood why L didn't like his guy, he had a nasty tone and attitude. L rolled his eyes and just grabbed your hand to pull you past Light.
