Since it's taking a little longer than planned (thanks to my phone being dropped in the fucking ocean) I'm going to give you all a little snippet and the blurb for the next full length L book. We're returning to the Kira case, but this time L gets to mess with his timeline a bit and cheat death. Got ideas while writing my multiverse oneshots so we're gonna expand it into a full story. Usually I use Greek myth as inspo when I add magic stuff into fics, but this time no gods or anything. Just some timeline jumping and a cosmic entity poking around to make sure all the universes are doing what they're meant to be doing. I've noticed the death note fandom isn't anywhere near as busy and big as it was during its 2020 resurgence, so readership for fics has been dwindling. But imma keep writing because hey someone has to, although updating may be a little slower because I've got other fics wrapping up at the same time. But for now, have a little sneak peek :)

Blurb
One moment he was looking at the screen before him reading 'all data deletion'. The next? He was standing in a room before a person who seemed vaguely inhuman, the world he was just in on the screen before him.

L has the chance to cheat death, and fix everything. All he needs to do, is listen to you and not fuck it up.

Snippet:
"You... aren't human, but you look like one..." he muttered.

"That's just how you see me. Describe me" you replied.

"About... this tall..." he began, gesturing to your height compared to his "your hair is (h/c) and your skin is (s/c), you look like a (gender)... and you're wearing pyjamas"

"Huh, figures. Your brain is seeing me human looking, because that's what your mind can comprehend. You'd probably get brain fog if you saw my true form"

"What do you look like?"

You pondered a moment, how did you deceive it to a human? You weren't sure... you weren't exactly humanoid.

"I'm... like a galaxy I guess. I'm a bunch of energy that looks kind of like stars and I can take whatever shape I want. I can choose my gender, name, likes and dislikes. By all means I'm a person, just not human" you explained.

L wasn't sure how to picture that, but he expected it to me rather magical looking. Curiously he approached you, wanting to get a closer look now he'd noticed the slightly inhuman look you had to his eyes. You held out a hand, allowing him to touch you. Hesitantly he took it, and you held his hand in yours.

"It feels like any other human. Although... tingly..." he commented.

"Yep, you can interact with me just like any other human. I can feel you too, your hands are cold" you replied.

This was all happening so fast and he was beyond confused, but he was also wildly interested in all of this. A room in between worlds, where a not quite god resided and watched over the multiverse... fascinating.
