"I'm back." I yelled as I entered the house.

"How was it?" my grandmother said, looking up from the puzzle she was working on at the dining table.

"It was good." I replied. "Hey, grandma?"

"Yes?" she answered.

"My friends are going to Seattle for a few days. They plan on leaving today." I said. "Can I go?"

"Don't you have school?" she said with a frown.

"I do...." I started slowly. "But, it's the end of the year and finals are already done. As a matter of fact, this is the last week."

"....What about attendance?" she asked with uncertainty.

"I'll be back by Thursday." I began to beg. "Pretty please?"

My grandmother looked conflicted.

"Who are you going with?" she asked cautiously.

"Emmett and Rosalie." I answered.

"The ones you were tutoring?" she questioned.

I nod.

"Just them two?" she said skeptically.

"They don't have many friends. I'm pretty much the only one they got." I said, scratching the back of my head. "They just wanted me to come and celebrate their graduation with them.

"And their parents are okay with this?" she inquired.

"Yes. They also are aware that they asked me to come." I replied.

She pursed her lips. "I want to meet them." she said sternly.

I nodded. "They'll be here in about an hour or so. I'll tell them to come in instead of waiting outside." I affirmed.

She nodded. "Alright." she said.

After our exchange, I made my way to my bedroom and grabbed my duffle bag from my closet. I know my grandmother wasn't completely appeased by the situation. I grabbed my phone from my purse and shot them a text.

Me

My grandmother wants to meet u.

Rose

Okay!

Em

We'll be at the door.

Taking the next step, I see.

I knew he was smirking over the phone. I rolled my eyes.

Me

You're over-thinking things.

Rose

Ouch.

You just had to ruin the nice moment, didn't you?

Me

I said what I said.

It's really not that big of a deal.

Em

Of course it's a big deal. It's the first time meeting your family.
