I spent the next hour ignoring her.

As time continued to tick by, I got tired of being mad and sighed.

Sam, who was at her desk doing her homework, looked over at me at the tired sound.

"Why must you torture me?" I lamented.

"No one's torturing, Liz." she giggled. "You're just grumpy."

I grunted, feeling indignant.

Sam laughed and she stood from her desk to walk over to me.

"You need your hair washed." she commented as she ran a hand through my hair. "You need to take better care of yourself."

I scoffed.

"I don't need a lecture." I replied.

Sam shook her head in response.

"Come on, Liz. Let's wash your hair." she pulled on my arm.

I let her drag me to her bathroom and sit me down on the toilet.

After getting everything she needed, made me remove my jacket before turning on the shower head. It took about 15-20 minutes to wash and condition my hair.

Once my hair was rinsed, Sam wrapped it all up in a towel and escorted me back to her room.

I sat on the floor between her legs quietly as she worked to dry my hair. As she does this, I can't help, but think about Rosalie and how she dried my hair. That ache in my chest, taking a firmer grasp on my heart.

I blinked back the tears and school my expression. The last think I needed was for same to start asking questions.

"Done!" Sam announced, turning the blow dryer off. "You wanna curl it?"

"No thank you." I said, getting off the floor.

"You're no fun." she pouted.

"So I've been told." I lay back on her bed.

"Still up for mani-pedis and make-up?" she inquired.

"Can't you be satisfied with doing my hair?" I glanced over at her.

She chuckled.

"Okay." she conceded and lied in bed beside me. "Let's talk then."

"Talk about what?" I asked.

"I don't know..." she trailed off. "Tell me something you've never told anyone else."

I frowned as I stared up at the ceiling.

There were a lot of things I didn't tell people. It wasn't their place to know my business.

I glanced over at Sam and didn't say anything. The room was quiet for a while.

"I eat my nails." I suddenly spoke.

"What?" Sam turned to me.

"I eat my nails." I repeated.

I didn't hear anything from a moment.

"Ew." she giggled. "That's gross."

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Free protein." I replied.

She laughed and shook her head. Once it settled down, Sam suddenly sat up and turned away from me.

I frowned at her action.

"Iris, can you keep a secret?" she asked lowly.

My frown deepened.
