Bella's POV

----------------------------

I exit the building and walk down the sidewalk, looking around.

I eventually find Iris on the side of the building, smoking a cigarette.

"Liz?" I call her.

She looks up at me.

She throws her cigarette on the ground and snuffs it with her shoe.

"Its over already?" Iris walks up to me.

"Mike got sick and had to go home." I tell her. "And Jacob was running a fever so he's gone as well."

"Oh..." she says as we walk to the car.

"Were you out here the whole time?" I ask her.

She nods.

"Whatever happened to 'going to the restroom'?" I say. "You kind of left me hanging back there."

"The movie was straight up ass." she replies. "I wasn't going to another second of my life watching trash."

"It wasn't that bad..." I say.

Iris silently looks at me.

......

"Okay. So it could have been better, but-" she cuts me off.

"Nope." She replies. "A dead person could write a better movie than that."

I don't argue with her and unlock my car door.

After getting in, I unlock Iris' side so she could get in.

I start the truck once she's in and pull out of the parking space.

"I haven't gotten the chance to thank you." I speak up.

I look at her from the corner of my eye.

"For dinner...." I continue. "And being there."

Iris doesn't reply.

I glance over at her and see her looking out the window.

I finally notice her headphones were covering her ears. Guess she didn't hear me.

"Don't mention it." she responds unexpectedly.

I glance at her again.

So she could hear me.

I stop at the light, turning my left signal on.

"So..." I start awkwardly. "What have you been up to lately?"

"Hm?" She says.

"Well, I don't really see around anymore." I say.

"I got a life." she replies.

I shoot her a glance.

I don't know if she's being blunt or snide.

I let it go and focus on making my turn.

"I brought to motorbikes." I tell her. "Jacob helped me fix them up. It's pretty cool, riding one. The fall can be pretty nasty though."

Silence.

"Maybe we can ride together sometimes." I offer. "Jacob's pretty good at that sort of stuff so he be our mentor, I guess."

More silence.

"....."

"I'll think about it." She eventually says.

We don't talk the rest of the ride.
