Thirty-Three 삼십삼

"Ali look at these shoes!" Yana cheers and runs into a store. Today Yana, Kaylee and I are out shopping. We really wanted some girl time, so today is the day. It's Saturday, so kinda busy in the city. But it is not too busy for it to be not fun anymore.

Kaylee and I laugh and follow Yana into the store. I can't stop smiling. I really needed this.  It's been a week since Taehyung forgot Yoonah at school which turned into a discussion. I wouldn't call it a fight, but it was not pleasant, that's for sure. Ever since then, I needed my friends around me. Not just because of that discussion, but also because Taehyung has spent so much time at work and less time with me. I just needed to get out of the house with my friends.

Yana shows Kaylee and me the heels she saw from outside. They are dark pink and very pretty. "What do you think?" Yana asks me. "They look great! Why don't you try them on?" I suggest. Yana laughs, "No, I mean for you! You love pink." I smile, I can't disagree with that. "Uhm, sure I can try them on," I say. I take the heels from her and try them on. Of course Yana already got my size for me. 

As I start to walk around in the heels, I can't help but smile even more. They are great! "They suit you," Kaylee says. I smile wide and look down on the shoes. They look really good, I can't argue with that. I don't own a lot of heels, because I don't wear them that often. I only have black ones, but I think I have some clothes that could really fit with these heels. Plus, the heels are not extremely high.

"I think I'll take them," I say, still a little doubtful. "Yes, you should!" Kaylee says. "Girl, if you don't buy them, I'll get them for you," Yana says. I laugh and take them off. If they say that, I know they really suit me and I should definitely get them. I don't buy shoes or heels that often, so I can definitely do that now.

A few minutes later, we walk out of the store, looking for our next target. "How is Taehyung doing?" Kaylee asks me all of a sudden. I scare a little by her question and take a few beats before I answer her. "He is doing okay," I tell her, "He's been busy." "Is he still doing these dance lessons with that chick?" Yana asks. Since she stayed with us for a while, she obviously knows about the dance lessons. But the last week she has been staying with Kaylee.

I nod and look away. "He does," I tell them. "Oh look! Forever 21!" I say to change the subject. But before I can go inside, Kaylee grabs my wrist and stops me. She looks at me with a concerned look on her face. "Ali, are you guys okay?" She asks me. I look into her eyes and feel my heart ache. I can't lie to them. Of course I don't want to lie to them, but I also don't want them to worry about me. So it's easier to hide my true emotions and go on with our fun day.

"Why don't we press pause on the shopping and get some food?" Yana suggests. We all nod and go to a cute restaurant. We put all our bags down and take a seat. When we all ordered a sandwich, Yana and Kaylee look at me. "How are you, really?" Yana asks. I take a deep breath before I start. "I'm okay, I guess," I start, "Taehyung has spent so much time at work lately... I am a little worried about us, you know, him and me. I feel like we barely spend time together." "And that's all because of that chick?" Kaylee asks.

"Well, yeah, Ye-Jun debuted this past week. So before then he spent a lot of time with her to finalize her dance routines with her. But he still does that now. They are busy filming a few dance practices to upload on her socials," I explain. Kaylee looks worried. "So all the extra work he has been doing, was with her?" She asks. I nod, "Yes. But it's fine. He is kinda like a real choreographer now and he loves that. I can see how happy he is doing all of this. But since he has his own schedule too, he plans the dance lessons with her later on the day."

Yana and Kaylee nod. "So you barely spend time together?" Yana asks. I shake my head. "When he comes home, he is mostly too tired and wants to go to bed early. I mean, I understand. He has very long days now, so I don't blame him for that," I explain. "But still, it doesn't sound fair that he doesn't get to spend time with you, his wife," Kaylee notices. I nod, "That's right. But he hates it too. There is only nothing we can do about it now." Yana and Kaylee still look a little worried. "But it's okay. In a few days all the dance lessons will be over and he will have extra free time again," I try to end with a happy note. I only see small smiles from them in return, letting me know they are still worried.

"Does Yoonah notice it?" Kaylee asks. I feel my heart ache again. "She does... She keeps asking Taehyung to go to the playground with her or to go swimming," I tell them, "But he keeps promising her to do that another time." "I can imagine she hates to hear that," Yana says. I nod, "She does. That's why I take her to the playground or to the pool at least once a week. Plus Taehyung's parents do these fun things with her as well."

The waiter comes to bring our food and drinks. It looks and smells really good! "Enjoy, ladies!" Kaylee says. We all start to eat. Luckily the topic changes and we talk about which stores we want to go to before the end of the day.

After our lunch, we go into the H&M. "Maybe you should buy new lingerie to get Taehyung to focus on you," Kaylee jokes. I laugh and feel my cheeks blush in embarrassment. "Oh come on, he focuses on me if he's got time," I say. "Yeah, but maybe he will make more time for you that way," Kaylee winks. I roll my eyes, "He would if he could, trust me." "Okay, as long as you are still intimate with each other," Kaylee says with a smile, but I hear a serious tone behind it. I smile, but realise that she has a point. Ever since Taehyung got so busy at work, we barely ever get intimate anymore...

"Oh my god! Look at this!" Yana cheers from a distance. Kaylee and I find her and see she is holding a grey beanie. "Girl, you never wear beanies," Kaylee laughs. "No, I know, but doesn't this scream Yoongi?" She says. Kaylee and I look at her and then at each other. We exchange a few looks and look back at Yana with a raised eyebrow. "Yoongi?" We ask at the same time. Yana looks at us and laughs. "Yes, don't you agree? I bet he would love a new beanie," she says. Kaylee and I get confused. "Since when are you shopping for Yoongi?" I ask Yana as I cross my arms. "Is there something we should know?" Kaylee asks also crossing her arms.

Yana laughs and hits us both with the beanie. "No, not like that. Stop it!" She says. "Careful, that's for Yoongi!" I joke. Yana sticks out her tongue. "Very funny," she says. "No, but really. Is there something we should know?" I ask her seriously. Yana rolls her eyes. "No, there isn't. I just meant to get it for him like a friend getting something nice for a friend," she says.

Kaylee and I nod. "Right, so nothing happened between you two?" Kaylee asks. "No, not like that. We are friends," Yana says. "Even when you went drinking together?" I ask. Yana looks a little annoyed. "Yes, even then we were just friends. Can you two stop? I just got out of a relationship that lasted five years. I am not jumping into a next one that quickly," she says, "Plus, I don't like Yoongi that way. Like I said, we are just friends." Kaylee and I nod. "Okay, we'll shut up about it," Kaylee says. "But keep us updated if you want to date again, okay? We might know some nice guys for you," I tell her with a wink. Yana laughs and hits me with the beanie once again. "Like Yoongi, I assume?" She laughs. I laugh as well, "To name one!" We all laugh and Yana goes to pay for the beanie.
