Part Eighty-Seven 여든칠

~ Taehyung ~

I look at Yoonah, who runs around with an ice cream in her hand. I see how Wooyoung and Yeosang run after her, trying her to stop running with her ice cream. But Yoonah is just too excited. She loves theme parks like this one and she loves attention from all the members. And now she has both BTS- and ATEEZ-members around her. Because just like all the BTS-members, the ATEEZ-members have fallen for her. How could they not? She is adorable!

"Yoonah, stop running with your ice cream!" Wooyoung tells her with a laugh. Yoonah just giggles and runs away from him again. Yeosang tries to help Wooyoung to catch her, what makes Yoonah giggle even more. It warms my heart, seeing her this happy. Am I a bit jealous that she wanted to go on rollercoaster rides with all the ATEEZ-members and not with me? Maybe a little. But as long as she is happy.

I look at her mother. She sits at the table and watches how Yeosang and Wooyoung run around with Yoonah. The smile on her face is brighter than the entire universe. Especially when her eyes sparkle along with her smile, just like now. I was afraid I would never see that smile ever again. But luckily, it is still there.

But it also scares me... I know her very well. And I know that what happened today, has hurt her. I know she is hurting. But she doesn't want to show anyone. She puts on a smile and continues with her day. But deep down, she is crying and screaming. Sadly, I know her well enough to know all these hidden emotions will only come to the surface when she is all alone... 

Just the thought of her crying alone, makes my heart ache. I don't want her to go through it all alone. I want her to be surrounded by love, or at least someone who can support her through it all. She doesn't have to go through it alone, even though she thinks she is doing this for us. I know she wants us to not see her in pain. So she hides it. But that is not the right way. At least, not to me. So if she will allow it, I want to be her shoulder to cry on at the end of the day.

"The food has arrived!" Mitch calls. Together with James and a few others of the crew, he puts a lot of pizza boxes on the tables. We call the entire team and a few minutes later, we all sit together and have dinner. Sadly, not the entire team is complete anymore. Some people had other places to be or just wanted to go home. Ye-Jun and her crew had to leave as well, since they had a recording session planned.

During dinner my eyes can't stop finding Alyssa. She sits next to Yeosang and Seokjin. They talk about something, but I have no idea what. They are too far away for me to follow the conversation. But I know it is something fun, since they are all laughing a lot.

I can't help but notice how close she sits with Yeosang. I know they are very good friends, but isn't this a little too much? Okay, she is not sitting on his lap, luckily, but still...

Don't get me wrong. I am happy that they are great friends. But I just feel like she is too close with him lately. They text and call each other a lot and today they are constantly around one another. It bugs me. Yeosang is a great guy. He is sweet, kind, caring, funny and good looking, even I can see that. But that is exactly the point. He is good for her... Too good... I am afraid she will see that too... Or maybe she already has... No, they aren't dating. But do they want to?

I scare when a hand touches my shoulder. I look up and see Namjoon standing behind me. "Are you eating enough, Tae?" He asks me. I smile about his concern and look back at my plate. Right, I took one single bite of my pizza, nothing more. But I am not even hungry at all. There are too many emotions racing through my body, I don't feel like filling it up with food as well.

"You need to eat more, appa!" Yoonah says. She sits between Yoongi and Yana and smiles at me as she takes another bite of her pizza. "I will, princess, I promise," I tell her. Luckily, everyone here already knows she is my daughter, so we don't have to go through the awkward questions again.

"She is right, Tae," Namjoon says with a smile. I laugh and roll my eyes. "Don't you have enough to worry about?" I joke, hinting at Sooyoung and his kids Minho and Yeongja. Namjoon laughs and brings his hand to my hair to mess it all up. "You're also still a kid of mine," He jokes, making us all laugh. I give him a playful push and laugh at him. "Okay, appa Namjoon," I tell him. He laughs and takes a seat with his family again.

"So, is Yoonah your granddaughter then?" Mingi asks Namjoon. Everyone laughs. "No! Now I feel way too old! We're not having that conversation," Namjoon laughs, "Let's just forget the whole thing, okay?" Everyone laughs, but agrees.

"You need to eat more as well, appa!" Wooyoung tells Hongjoong. Hongjoong laughs, but his face turns red immediately. "Wooyoung..." He warns Wooyoung, but Wooyoung can't stop laughing. "I'm just telling my appa to eat well, just like Yoonah did!" He laughs.

Hongjoong tries to ignore him and looks at Namjoon. "Do you want an extra child? Because I will happily give you Wooyoung," He laughs. Namjoon laughs as well, but shakes is head, "No thank you! I already have two real kids and six other kids, so I have more than enough!" "Aw, but I bet you don't have a problem kid like Wooyoung," Hongjoong says. "Well, I have Jungkook and Taehyung, who will be problem kids whenever they want. Oh and when Seokjin gets together with Jungkook, everything will be a big chaos! So I think I am good," Namjoon laughs.

Everyone laughs with them, even Wooyoung. "You're stuck with me, appa!" He says and hugs Hongjoong tight. Hongjoong laughs, but he fake cries at the same time. "Someone save me!" He begs. But then Yoonah jumps up from her seat and runs to Wooyoung. "Wooyoung! Come to my family! You can be my brother!" Yoonah says.

Wooyoung lets go of Hongjoong immediately and turns to Yoonah with the brightest smile on his face. "Oh my god! Yes I want that!" He cheers. He hugs Yoonah and pulls her onto his lap. "Thank you, sister!" He says. Then he looks at Alyssa and me. "Now you have a second child," he jokes.

I scare and look at Alyssa. "He is not mine," I tell her immediately. "He is not mine either!" She plays along. "So he is adopted?" I ask. Alyssa looks at Wooyoung for a split second. "Why would we ever adopt him?" She says and can't hold her laugh. "Maybe because he was abandoned by his real family," I suggest. Immediately everyone starts to laugh. "Yeah, that seems realistic," Jongho jokes. Wooyoung shoots him a glare, but can't stop laughing either.

After dinner we clean up together and go into a few more rides, but then it is really time to go. Not that we mind, because we had an amazing day, but we are all very tired now.

As we all go to the parking lot, I go to Alyssa. She is holding a very tired Yoonah. "Can I drive you home?" I ask Alyssa carefully. She looks a little confused and hesitates. "I don't know if that's a good idea..." She says. "Look, if you really don't want to, that's okay. But I just don't want you to be alone tonight... It doesn't have to mean anything, but I just want to be there for you. I can't even imagine what you're going through..." I tell her. She looks away from me and I see how she is trying not to cry. I was right... The emotions are very much present in her body.

She finally looks back at me and nods. "O-Okay," she softly says. I feel an explosion of emotions inside of me. She allows me to drive her home and stay with her? Does this 'okay' also means that I can stay and be there for her? I really hope so. But at least I can drive her home.

I try not to smile too much and nod. "Okay," I tell her, "I will put Yoonah in the car so you can say bye to the others." She smiles a little and nods, "Thanks." I take Yoonah from her and hold her closely. She is nearly asleep already, but she is fighting to stay awake.

I carefully open the car and put Yoonah in her chair. When I put her seat belt on, she opens her eyes and looks at me. "Appa?" She asks, "You're coming home?" I smile and nod, "Yes, princess, is that okay with you?" She smiles and nods sleepy. "Yes, finally together again..." And with that, she falls asleep. I smile wide and put a kiss on her head. "I know, baby..."
