Part Fifty-Five 오십 오

"Ah shit!" I groan as I burn my finger on the curling iron. I can't help it, I feel very nervous. Today is the American Music Awards. An event that is a favorite of mine, but not now. In the past years I absolutely loved to go there, see all the artists, see all the performances, take photo's and video's of our guys and hopefully take home an award or two. But this is the first time I won't go as Taehyung's date.

Not that he could publicly bring a date, since nobody knew about our relationship, but just between us, we always pretended I was his date. But not this year. This year he has another date.. Ugh, I hate to only think about it. Again, she won't be his date publicly, but I know she will be sitting next to him and be with him the entire night, right where I used to be...

Yana knocks on the door of the bathroom before walking in. "Ali, help me, isn't it too much?" She asks me. I quickly finish my last curl and look at her. My jaw hits the floor. Yana wears a red, long dress with an open leg. The dress looks very neat and it sparkles. Yana herself has her hair curled, just like me. Wow! She looks amazing!

"You look stunning, girl!" I tell her as I look her up and down again. Yana smiles wide, "Really? I feel a little uncomfortable, especially in these heels." She shows me her red high heels. I agree, it is not something she wears so often, but she totally rocks it. "You look amazing in them, Yana! And don't worry, you are supposed to feel a little uncomfortable," I joke. Yana laughs, "Don't lie, Ali. You don't look uncomfortable at all! I mean, look at you!"

I look at my own dress. I wear a blue dress with four different layers and a silver ribbon around the waist. The dress is strapless and has sparkles all over it. I also feel a little overdressed since I am just a crew member, but I know we will fit right in with all the other women and dresses.

"Thank you! I feel like a princess," I laugh. Yana laughs and nods, "You look like one too! But can I be Cinderella and go home by midnight?" I laugh and shake my head, "Trust me, you're gonna love this." She takes a deep breath and shakes her head, "These fancy parties aren't really my style, but I trust you." I finish my make-up and put on my shoes. "We will all be together, so we will have a great time no matter what," I tell her. "Why? Did Ye-Jun cancel?" She jokes, making us both laugh. "I wish," I laugh.

A few minutes later, Kaylee and Jesse pick us up. Our management was kind enough to get tickets for the AMA's for the entire crew, so we can all go together. Only Kaylee and I have to work and take photos and videos during the event, while everyone else is just there to party. But we don't mind, we love our job.

"So you will be at the front during their performance, right?" Yana asks Kaylee and me. "Yes, so you need to keep Jesse company," Kaylee smiles. "Well, that's better than being all alone," Yana says, making Jesse roll his eyes. "Thanks..." But then we all laugh. "No, of course I love to party with you, Jesse," Yana makes up to him. He laughs, "Great. Same here!"

We arrive at the venue before the chaos starts. Since we are the crew, we go inside through the back door. Of course all the artists take the big entrance with the red carpet, but since BTS already had to do a sound check, they are already here. So they will get ready, take a car to the big entrance and walk the red carpet like they really just arrived. And Kaylee and I will be there with them to take their photos and to make videos for the behind the scenes footage.

We enter the dressing room of BTS and already see a lot of people. We see some of our film crew, the members themselves and a lot of people around them to get their hair and make-up done. "Hey guys!" Namjoon greets us. He looks us up and down and smiles wide. "Wow! You look absolutely amazing!" He tells us. He himself wears a beautiful suit, what makes him look like a really important man. Which he is, of course.
