Part Ninety-Seven 아흔칠

The next day is luckily less overwhelming. In fact, the day goes by very smoothly. It is another day at the office and I happen to get a lot of work done. We even already had a meeting for the new Run BTS episodes.

"Oh ATEEZ's statement is out," James says. I look up from my laptop and look at him. "It is?" I ask him. "Yes, it is posted on twitter and on all their platforms," he says.

I immediately drop everything to take a look. After a lot of meetings about the article against Taehyung, the management made a statement. I was not present in all these meetings, but according to James it was a very busy discussion whether or not we should make a statement about it.

In the end, it has been decided that the company would make a statement about it and explain what happened. Luckily we didn't include anything about the harassment from Eric to me, but we mentioned it as him bothering a crew member. Not too much detail, but just about enough to give some of the backstory and then to go back to focusing on Taehyung's part of the story.

Normally, we try not to make statements, because if we do, we only give more power to the journalists and their insane articles. But this time we really needed to make a statement to protect Taehyung and BTS' image. And we did.

After our statement was out, not just ARMY but a lot of other people online were convinced of Taehyung's innocence. But still a lot of journalists ran with the idea of Taehyung being violent. We tried to get the police to make a statement as well, but since the investigation is not finished yet, they couldn't say anything. But now ATEEZ made their statement. So perhaps everything is fixed now.

I find their statement on their Twitter and quickly open it to read it. The statement is not too long, but too short either. In their statement they say they were in the same theme park that day. They luckily don't say anything about Run BTS, but they mention they were all there together by coincidence. They even added a photo of the entire group to proof it.

In their statement they confirm that Taehyung was not violent, but was really just protecting a crew member. It was a sweet and very good statement. Something I bet will help the situation a lot.

But as I scroll through Twitter and see the comments of fans, they are mostly focused on the fact that ATEEZ and BTS were in the same place together. They are absolutely convinced of Taehyung's innocence and they don't worry about it anymore. That's why they are only focused on the fact that the two bands were all together. 

I get it though. It is very special. I know for sure that if I was still a fangirl and I had no idea what was going on, I would freak out as well. I mean, two of your favorite bands who are together in one place... That is just amazing. I can't describe the feelings, but I understand all the ATINY's and ARMY's very, very well.

"I hope their statement will work," I tell James. He nods, "Me too. Well, I think it will. These two fandoms together are so strong, they will definitely win from some random gossip." I nod, he is right. We shouldn't worry.

Before I know it, it is time for lunch. Together with James I go to the cafetaria. We are lucky enough to have a buffet for lunch at work. It is very nice to not have to bring your own lunch and just have a meal all together during the day. It of course depends who is present during lunch. We don't have a special time for lunch, we are just able to get lunch between twelve and two. Some people always have lunch at the same time, others just when they feel like it.

James and I have lunch whenever fits best with work, just like most people.

We are just on our way to the cafetaria, when I hear familiar voices. I feel confused. Is someone watching a video or am I really hearing this right?
