Amanda LaRusso's POV
I sip some wine with Daniel as we wait for Sam to come back from the drive-in with the other kids. It puts me at ease that he's trying to work with Johnny against that sociopath, Kreese.
"Miguel and I are making good progress on that car," my husband rambles on and on. I haven't seen him this engaged in cars since... Robby.
He's on the same side as Tory; I have to keep my communication with her a secret. Sam would hate me if she knew that I stepped in. I just want to help and I think maybe, just maybe, Tory is accepting a bit of it.
"That must be her," I interrupt Daniel's endless storytelling when I hear the door open and close.
We stand up and walk to the door, but what I see is not at all what I expected.
"Sam, honey, what happened?" I set me glass on the table and rush over to help her.
Miguel is holding half of her body and I try to carry her to a place to sit. Sam is beat up pretty badly and it looks like she's been crying. She smells like carnival food- in the worst possible way.
"Did Tory do this to you? Because we will go to the police right now-"
"It wasn't Tory," Sam sobs as Miguel wraps his arm around her and Daniel and I sit across from the couple in concern.
"Then, who was it?" I ask. I can't fathom anyone else doing this to her.
"Z," Miguel sighs in hesitance.
"I'm going to rip Kreese's head off!" Daniel stands up and begins to overreact.
"Z? The one you said you still had hope for?" I ask Miguel. He's briefly mentioned her. "She did this to her?"
"She stole Robby from me," Sam explains through her tears. "She said that Robby cheat on me and she cheat on Hawk with each other."
I see Miguel's face of concern as Daniel stares at the couple in shock.
"Robby did that?" he questions. "That's not like him."
"He's different with Z," Sam explains. "I hate her, but I couldn't beat her and it was... it was like Tory all over again, except it wasn't really fear this time. It was the fact that she was unbeatable."
"She knew some Miyagi-Do moves," Miguel adds.
I look at Daniel in concern as his face falls drastically.
"I wonder how," I mutter to myself. Robby has changed so much.
"Thank you for taking good care of her, Miguel," Daniel tells the boy, "but I think we should have a family-exclusive meeting."
