A/N: Okay, I am very excited about this chapter. I had a time getting my original plotline to flow, but I think it is now.
I think you'll be excited to see a familiar face return from the earlier seasons.
Also I haven't given a faceclaim to Simon or Jake, but I can if there's interest. Personally, I imagine Simon as Mason Temple.
Okay! Enjoy!
Warnings: abuse, addiction, anxiety, homophobia, depression, domestic violence, grief, gun violence, language, panic attacks, sexual harassment/assault, violence, weapons, and other mature themes

Zion's POV
As I had hoped, our lunch table basically doubled in size on Monday.
When Tory and Aisha sat with me and Robby at the karate table rather than the feminicon table, the rest of our friends came over to join. From now on the three of us share a table with both the feminicons and Miyagi-Do. Even Yasmine and Moon join us when they're not at the cheer team's table. It's wild.
And it's actually peaceful. Everyone had their own conversations, and I was in the middle to pick who to speak to. And this time, it was nice to have to choose.
Robby has kept his word by barely talking to Hawk, even though I told him it wasn't necessary. Tory didn't really talk to Sam, but every now and then they acknowledge each other. I'm just excited that everything's working out finally.
Now it's Wednesday, and we're all gathered in the gym for an assembly where the candidates for student body president will make their campaign speeches ahead of the election next Friday. Eva and Aisha as presidential and vice presidential candidates sit by Simon and Jake.
Eva just finished her speech, which was amazingly crafted. She made some great points, and of course she used some words I'd never heard before. She gave a clear overview of her stance on inclusivity and anti-bullying at this school, as well as extra funding for the lesser-known extra curriculars. All these people would be stupid not to vote for her.
Now we watch Simon approach the podium with index cards in hand. I wonder if he or Eva were nervous to talk to the whole school that's currently crammed into this gym.
He adjusts the microphone, "Good afternoon, West Valley High. I am Simon Ito, your other student body presidential nominee. I thank you all for your attention today." He pauses. Then, "West Valley, we exist in our own world. We are here five days a week, seven hours a day. These walls have practically become our second home."
I nod, wondering what his point is.
"I agree with my opponent that we as our own society should feel safe within the walls of this school. I agree that we should end intolerance. But let me ask you this, my fellow peers: Do you feel comfortable having someone with their own agenda leading us?"
I glance down at Eva in surprise. What is this about? Even from afar, she looks just as confused.
"My opponent states that she wishes to end bullying at this school and bring inclusivity. She wants equal rights, which I don't disagree," Simon continues. I stare at him skeptically. "But is this feminism just performative?"
