"Team, in Paris and Norway we successfully discovered the Promethians are plotting their next attack here in Germany. You must stop them before it's too late!" Chief Ripley instructed, "they almost got their hands on the sought-after Promethian manuscript, but thanks to Anders and Carmen, it's safe with us."
"The Promethians are an ancient cult resurfacing after centuries of silence. We strongly suspect they're responsible for two important people's deaths so far," Carmen says, reviewing her notes, "it's also Oktoberfest. Coincidence? I think not!"
Anders snorted, "is there ever a coincidence in our line of work?"
"Oktoberfest is a time-honoured tradition in Germany where millions gather to drink beer and celebrate Bavarian culture," Ingrid informed, displaying several images of Germans celebrating Oktoberfest on the monitor for the team to see.
"I've covered Oktoberfest before," Carmen says, putting her notepad away, "it's the perfect backdrop for an attack. We must keep a sharp eye out for anything suspicious!"
"Hans Vogel, the famous action movie star, is also in town. Bierburg is his hometown, but he left Germany fifteen years ago to make it big in LA," Ripley explains as an image of the man took up the screen.
"A celebrity of that stature will certainly attract a big crowd," Anders hums, "something the Promethians might use to their advantage."
"The center of the festivities is the village square. I suggest you begin there before the crowds arrive," the Chief orders, "Anders, Carmen, be safe and Godspeed!"
Carmen and Anders headed out to their Jeep and drove towards the town square. The sun was just starting to rise over the horizon, casting a soft golden glow on the town square. The agents walked around the area admiring all of the decorations until they came across a house-sized cuckoo clock display complete with moving wooden figures on spinning posts. But in the center of the cuckoo clock was a bloody body impaled on the pole with the top of it jutting out of the man's chest. Looking around the town square, Anders spotted a postcard stuck in the bushes beside the cuckoo clock while Hunter found a photo on the ground.
"Dang, Anders, there's a dead guy on this cuckoo clock!" Carmen exclaimed, staring in shock at the sight before them, "we got here early, but it's still too late!"
"At least too late for him," Anders agrees, bending over to grab the postcard out of the bush.
"Wait! That's not just any guy. That's... the movie star the Chief told us about, Hans Vogel! He's been killed!" she gasped in recognition, "a movie star dead on our watch! This is way too suspicious... I wonder if the Promethians are involved!"
He walks over to join his partner in front of the victim, "it's not a bad theory, but we'll need evidence to prove that!"
"I see you're already onto something, Anders! That faded postcard showing the victim's name might reveal something after you dust it," Carmen suggested as Hunter came up beside her. She took the photo out of the dog's mouth, "what's on that photo you found, Hunter? A cardboard cutout of our victim?"
Anders looked over her shoulder, "a man put his face in the hole to take his picture with Vogel. Let's run this guy's face through our database and see if there's a match!"
"Alright, Anders, let's get cracking! We have to get to the bottom of this!"
Anders examines the faded postcard first. He grabs his dusting kit and brushes the faded side of the card to recover the message written to Hans.
"The message reads: "Meet me here" and there seems to be some kind of code written on it," Anders shows Carmen the string of letters and numbers.
"Any idea what it could mean, Anders?" Carmen inquired.
