Tijuana, Mexico...

"These are troubling times for the Bureau, Adalet. While visiting SOMBRA's birthplace, we arrested the man we thought to be SOMBRA's leader! But it turns out that although Castillo was SOMBRA's founder, he's since handed the title of El Rey to a successor... Which means the real El Rey is still at large!" Chief Ripley concludes.

"The only information we have is that we've already met the current El Rey somewhere throughout our investigations," Adalet muses, thinking of past suspects, "that could be anyone!"

"Our immediate concern must be Castillo's threats about SOMBRA preparing to "step out into the light" in the North! The USA's sudden decision to build a wall along the Mexican border sounds exactly like the kind of political unrest SOMBRA could take advantage of!" she declares, "which is why we've come to Mexico! Adalet, I want you to head down to the wall's construction site. The sooner we get some answers, the better!"

She salutes, "I'm on it, Chief! I'll grab Jack, and we'll investigate immediately!"

After finding Jack getting a snack in the kitchen, he and Adalet drove to the wall's construction site. When they arrived at the site, they were stunned by the giant wall being built; pictures didn't do it justice! But despite the progress being made, the workers currently had the day off, giving them the perfect opportunity to investigate for SOMBRA involvement.

Of course, that would have to wait until they solved the murder of the woman hanging from a crane's hook like a piñata... They can't go anywhere without death following them...

As Adalet flies up to get the body down, Jack and Hunter look around the construction site turned crime scene. They discovered a silver tablet on the ground with a picture of the dead woman on the lock screen. They also found a pile of colourful pieces of painted wood, but it was impossible to tell what they came from.

"My God, Adalet! It looks like this poor woman has been hung up and beaten to death!" Jack remarks in disgust as his partner brings the body to the ground, "whoever killed her even put streamers on her. Was this victim decorated like a human piñata? This is gruesome!"

"It is," Adalet agrees, reading the card clipped to the woman's shirt, "the name tag says this woman's called Cindy Hamilton and that she's the project coordinator here at the wall."

"And we're already on the case, Adalet," he reports, gesturing to the clues he and Hunter found, "this tablet must've belonged to the victim - the lock screen has her photo on it. I'll leave the password decoding to Loki! And I almost missed those broken pieces in all this construction mess; thank god for Hunter! Let's grab the glue so you can put that back together!"

"It's a good thing that wall's not going anywhere, Jack," she commented, "because it will have to wait! We've got a murder to solve!"

With Jack standing watch, Adalet and Loki examined the evidence. The smaller alien possess the tablet to locate and hack the passcode keeping them out of the device. As they were in the digital world, in the real world, Adalet glued the pieces of broken wood back together and assembled them into a white skull mask with colourful flowers decorating it. Just as Adalet screwed the cap back on the glue bottle, Loki chirped to announce they had finished hacking the victim's tablet.

"Whoa, that skull mask's a bit creepy. What's it doing at a construction site?" Jack wonders, taking it from Adalet, "wait, I think this is a Day of the Dead mask! That's how Mexicans honour those who have passed away; I heard it's going on right now!"

"Hang on, Jack, there's a message on the inside!" Adalet notes, pointing to the paper stuck inside the skull.

He flips the mask over, "Cindy, please be my honoured guest." And it's signed by a certain Lupita Mendez! It looks like this Lupita Mendez was extending the victim an invitation to something. Let's go ask her what it was!"
