In Northern Canada...
"Adalet, SOMBRA's plans to turn the US against the UN worked so well that we're on the brink of an international crisis. We cannot risk tensions escalating further! Unfortunately, our attempt to warn the US President about SOMBRA wasn't as successful as we hoped!" Chief Ripley sighed, "using BØB's hard drive to prove that SOMBRA's engineering the current crisis for their own benefit was our best chance... But someone diverted the satellite into the Canadian wilderness! Elliot, report on the situation!"
"It's under control, Chief!" Elliot promises, "we know the satellite crashed a few miles from here. I think we can easily recover the drive!"
"Then you know what to do! Elliot, go with Adalet to the crash site and get that drive!" she orders, "there's not a minute to lose!"
"Consider us already there, Chief!" Adalet jokes, already bundled up in her winter clothes.
"Just let me grab my jacket, Adalet!" Elliot calls, running to his bedroom.
Once Elliot was ready to brave the cold of Northern Canada, he and Adalet drove through the woods to the satellite crash site. And a crash site it was; trees had been destroyed, and marks in the snow showed the path the broken satellite took as it landed. The wings of BØB had been torn off, and the jets were detached from the satellite's body. There was no hope of restoring BØB...
Or saving the dead man lying face down on one of BØB's destroyed wings. He was pale from the blood loss that came from the wound in his back, and his black hair was as dishevelled as his clothes. He looked familiar, but neither Adalet nor Elliot could put a name to the dead man's face.
"Adalet, there's a dead guy over there!" Elliot cries, pointing at the body, "and-"
"Adalet! Help me!"
Adalet and Elliot jump as Asal stumbles out of the tree line, covered in cuts and bruises. The Mossad agent staggers towards them, and Adalet catches her before she trips over her feet.
"Asal?!" Adalet gasped, "you're- What happened?!"
"We got attacked..." Asal pants, her eyes unfocused, "Jean Connerie's dead... And I-"
Asal passed out before she could finish her sentence, and Adalet carefully lowered her to the snow to check her injuries.
"Adalet! Asal's collapsed! She needs help!" Elliot panics, "the hard drive will have to wait! We need to get Asal to the hospital and deal with this dead guy first! I'm calling the team for backup!"
Half an hour later...
"Adalet! Elliot!" Carmen calls as she runs out of the helicopter once it landed, "I came as fast as I could! Elliot, I'm sorry you had to see this scene. Sometimes, I forget you're only 17 and not used to leaving your tech lab..."
"I'm alright... But Asal's in a critical state. She needs to be airlifted to the hospital," Elliot says, trying to divert the conversation away from himself, "and the other guy's dead. Asal said they both got attacked."
"Asal's a tough cookie..." she states as Oberon and Jonah get Asal onto a scratcher, "if she got so badly injured, something horrible must've gone down here. Did she say anything else?"
"She said the victim's name was Jean Connerie," he took out his Digicool, "I looked him up in my Digicool to distract myself from the blood... Apparently, we know him. He's the rather clumsy French spy we met in Egypt."
"Oh yeah!" Adalet says as recognition sets in, "he used to wear a fake mustache!"
"A French spy in the Canadian wilderness... Do you think Connerie came here because he knew about BØB?" Carmen suggested.
