"Team, you've been going from success to success, but we still need to find the true identity of Chief Ripley's killer! Thanks to you, we know that Chief Ripley's killer is operating under a code name: The Sword. And that they have ties to SOMBRA!" Ingrid summarizes, "we still don't know who or what SOMBRA is, but we do know that The Sword is operating in Egypt."
"If we're going to Egypt, we are definitely going into a pyramid!" Jack grins.
"Or you could do your job and keep your eyes peeled for The Sword, Archer!" she glares.
"Never fear, Ingrid. Between me and Adalet, The Sword is as good as in jail," he winked.
She sighed, "Adalet, would you ensure that Archer doesn't break any precious antiquities with his ego in that tomb?"
"Don't worry, Ingrid, I'll make sure he looks with his eyes and not his hands!" Adalet promised.
It was surprisingly easy to find a pyramid that was open to visitors. Adalet and Jack drove through the sandy roads to the site of the Egyptian pyramids and saw one with its entrance opened and a sign saying that it was safe for visitors. The agents headed inside and followed the path lit by electric lanterns until they reached the main tomb of the pyramid.
The room was wide with a high ceiling and statues lining the path to the sarcophagus. The walls and ceiling had hundreds of hieroglyphics carved and painted on them and there was even a fake mummy displayed in the open sarcophagus. Though the dummy had a lot of fake blood on it...
Jack was checking out the hieroglyphics while Adalet approached the sarcophagus. As she was walking up the path, she picked up a gold ankh off the broken stone burial shrine and she also almost kicked some broken alabaster as she rounded the shrine to stand in front of the sarcophagus.
"Check it out, Adalet! I'm walking like an Egyptian! And so's this mummy!" Jack jokes as he walks over to her moving his arms in the shape of Zs.
Adalet took a closer look at the blood running out of the mummy's nose, "hold it, Jack! Mummies don't have fresh blood coming out of them! This guy is newly dead!"
"Pretty clear he didn't mummify himself... Was someone just trying to hide his body or was he some kind of sick experiment?" he pondered, moving aside the bandages to see the man's lifeless eyes, "were there any clues in this tomb about the identity of this guy? And why someone wanted to mummify him?"
"There was nothing that would identify him, but I might have found some clues that will help us find out why he was mummified!" she replies, showing him the gold ankh and pointing to the broken alabaster.
"A bunch of broken alabaster? If you think piecing that together will help, I can support that!" he smirks, taking the ankh, "look at this beautiful golden ankh! With blood on it... Do you think the killer knocked out the victim with the ankh?"
"It's certainly heavy enough," she replies, "a sample of that blood might tell us more!"
"Here's hoping that these clues can help us find out who this mummy is!" Jack says as Adalet opens her case.
After Jack had sent the team a message notifying them of the murder and requesting Angela to come collect the body, he grabs a swabbing kit from Adalet's case to examine the golden ankh. As he was collecting a sample of the blood, Adalet glued the pieces of alabaster back together until she had the plaque fully repaired.
"Got the blood sample we need from the ankh, Jack?" Adalet asks, screwing the cap back on her glue bottle.
"Yup!" Jack confirmed, holding it up for her to see, "let's get it to Lars!"
