"Correct me if I'm wrong," Jack instructs as he relaxes on the couch in the lounge with his teammates, "but didn't we just have a detour in Pacific Bay? Why are we stopping again?!"
"We don't have enough fuel to reach Seattle," Fili replied, "would you rather we fall from the sky?"
"I'm just saying, my theory about someone making us have these unforeseen stops gets more plausible every time!" he declared.
Carmen rolled her eyes, "you sound like you're high again, Jack!"
"Yeah," Lars agrees, pausing the video game he was playing with Oberon, Elliot, and Jonah, "Astra just needed to refuel!"
"Yeah, it seems like Astra's always the reason why we're making detours..." Jack grumbled.
"Do not sound so grumpy, Monsieur Archer!" Dupont beams, finishing his cup of tea, "after all, we are in the great city of Concordia! So much history exists in this city! Why, mon arrière-grand-père-"
Jack let out a fake snore.
Anders shoves the younger man, "be nice, Jack!"
"I read about Concorida's history while studying to become a lawyer... Its Flying Squad is fascinating!" Michelle says, closing her book, "all of the crimes they solved, the justice they brought to victims... Their story is incredible!"
"Why was it called the Flying Squad?" Marina questions.
"The team operated on an airship," Fili answers, "it kinda reminds me of us! I bet it was fun flying around Concordia in an airship!"
"I've seen pictures of it and its interior," Oberon chimes in, "to think, they essentially had a mobile police station! Offices, a morgue, lab, armoury... They even had a full-blown library onboard! The team probably could have lived on it if they needed to!"
"And since we know how much of a headache that can be," Anders teases, "I'm sure they were grateful to be able to go home to their own houses at the end of the day!"
"Oui!" Dupont agrees, "and as I was saying before Monsieur Archer interrupted me, my great-grandfather Charles Dupont was a member of the Flying Squad! He was the team's inventor and handled the analysis of various devices and inventions while also designing inventions of his own!"
"I didn't know your great-grandfather was an inventor. I assumed you came from a long line of history nerds!" Jack admits.
He hums in affirmation, "many members of my family dabble in inventing new things... But I have always preferred to look to the past for answers. After all, a Dupont always seeks knowledge, but how they do so is their choice!"
"That's amazing! I wish I had an ancestor like that!" Anders says, "of course, my great-great-grandfather was the first Leo, so I guess I'm not one to talk..."
Fili chuckled, "aye, I don't think you're allowed to complain... I've got a lot of cool ancestors, but to have one who worked for The Flying Squad is impressive! Imagine the stories they could tell if they were still around..."
"Well, the good news is that soon people will be able to learn all about The Flying Squad and their adventures," Dupont tells the team, "a committee is working to create a museum dedicated to them right here in Concordia! In fact, it will be using the original airship to house the museum! It will be as if you are transported back in time to when they operated! Descendants of the team, such as myself, are being consulted on the project! In fact, we could possibly have a private tour of the museum while it's still under construction... Members of the committee are allowed onboard the airship at any time!"
"I think that sounds like a wonderful idea, Dupont!" Chief Ripley approves, "it would do the team some good to go out and explore, especially while the fuel truck is delayed!"
