Max listens and watches the well lit fire that Lucas did, Max watching the wood burn and the soft cracks relaxing her. The warmth helps her warm up, her hair up in a messy bun and her wearing a simple light blue silk material nightdress, a fluffy blanket wrapped around her. She sits with her legs tucked under her, Lucas putting down tons of pillows and sleeping bags under the blankets for the pallet in front of the fireplace.

Lucas has tended to her needs like a King treating her Queen like complete royalty. When they got back home he gave her a dose of cough medicine first since she started coughing hard in the car, he bathed her in the tub, Max not feeling like taking a shower, he dried her off and blow dried her hair, putting her hair up in a bun. He moisturized her and dressed her and put a blanket over her after he was done, carrying her to the bed then him setting up the pallet and the fireplace.

She feels as clingy as ever for him, she needs him close and she doesn't want him to far for too long. She looks over at him to see him lighting the last candle, him blowing out the match and throwing it in the trash. Her emotions are all over the place right now because Lucas is right there but she feels herself about to cry because he is too far.

Lucas goes to sit down, bringing Max closer to him while still keeping the blanket wrapped around her, her back meeting his front. Lucas goes to hand her a small four milligram cup to her with the cough medicine, her going to down the twinge taste before Lucas sets it down next to the bottle of medicine. Lucas hands her a bottle water, her going to drink some of it before he goes to set it down next to the medicine.

He pulls Max closer to him, Lucas legs stretched out while Max sits cris crossed on the pallet. She holds the jewelry box in front of her, her looking at it and grazing her hand over it while she feels Lucas give slow loving kisses down her neck. Max closes her eyes slowly, tilting her head to the side to give Lucas better access, that doing well to calm her nerves. "Are you warm?" He questions on her neck. Max nods her head while her eyes are still closed. "Are you comfortable?" Max nods her head again while her eyes are still closed. "Do you need anything else?"

God this man, Lucas doesn't realize how much it means to her, how much he is caring for her right now to make sure she has everything she needs. Max shakes her head, going to lean more on Lucas. "I just need you." Max responds in a hoarse tone, her chest lightly hurting from the cough and light cold she has from sprinting out to Lucas in the rain, her nose red from her blowing her nose and throat dry from the countless amounts of water she has to drink.

Lucas goes to put a finger under her chin, making her turn and look up at him, her blue bright doe eyes looking up at him. "I'm right here." Lucas says before giving her soft pecks to her lips.

"Lucas I don't.want.to.get you sick." Max mentions in a quiet voice after each peck Lucas gives to her, it honestly hurting right now when she talk.

Lucas shakes his head. "I don't care." He mentions before putting his lips back on Max's, kissing her slowly and lovingly, his hand softly stroking her cheek. His other hand softly rubs up and down her soft arm, him giving her a few more soft pecks before pulling away.

Max goes to sit up a little, her eyes going back to the jewelry box. She looks besides her, her picking up the keychain that Chester have to her. When Chester gave it to her Max almost put it in the jewelry box and she is so glad she didn't, she would not want to plague this box with the gift that is now considered trash. Max looks at the keychain for a second longer before she goes to throw it in the fire, Max and Lucas watching it slowly begin to burn and turn black.

Max goes to gently put the jewelry box besides the pallet away from the fire before leaning back on Lucas, her wrapping the blanket more around her. She takes some tissues out of the Kleenex box, going to cough into the tissue.
