"So what are you in the mood for to eat?" Max questions, her and Lucas holding hands while they walk down the hallway together towards the great big entrance doors.
"Definitely something homemade." Lucas responds.
"How does chicken stir fry sound?" Max questions.
"That sounds amazing." Lucas smiles at her, him holding the door open for her and Nancy. "Nance you coming over?"
"No Steve is already home, Robin and Vicki are over there too. They were going to make dinner for us, something about a new recipe they found." Nancy says.
"I forgot you guys have a duplex with them." Max says.
"You bought the duplex." Nancy laughs.
"Yeah but that was years ago I forgot." Max shrugs. "Well I'm hungry."
"Me too which is why I am trying to wait for Amir to hurry up and come out." Nancy says while looking back at the door. "Seriously is that kid a freshman?"
"Yeah he is." Lucas nods.
"How old is he?" Max questions.
"Seventeen." Lucas answers.
"Ouch." Nancy says, her raising her eyebrows. "So he got held back three years?"
"He dropped out for three years." Lucas corrects. "But...I'm not judging I'm just...."
"You're just what?" Max looks over at him.
Lucas shrugs a little, all of them looking towards the doors when they open.
"But yeah ten championship games won, me and the team are going to try and bring another trophy home this season, you should come to the games." Amir nods.
"I might, seems like what you say those pep rally's sound hype." Ryder says.
"Yeah they do they are a lot of fun." Amir smiles.
"Ight well imma head out, thanks again." Ryder says while going down the stairs.
"You're welcome." Amir says.
"Thank you again sir." Ryder directs at Lucas.
"Welcome." Lucas nods.
"Ryder your parents here to pick you up?" Max questions.
"Nah nah." Ryder shakes his head. "Just wit my grandparents and they to old to be drivin." He lightly knuckles.
"Do you need a ride?" Nancy questions.
"Nah it's all good, I enjoy the outdoors, I enjoy walkin." Ryder says while taking off his leather jacket. "Appreciate it tho, have a nice one."
"You...too." Max says, all of them watching as he puts his leather jacket in his backpack before putting the straps over his shoulders and him going to walk away.
"So umm...not that I'm judging but..." Nancy starts. "He's seventeen...and he has tattoos. I thought minors couldn't get tattoos?"
"It is illegal unless they have a written consent form by a parent or guardian." Lucas says, him still looking ahead of him while he is at the top of the steps with Max. "Hey Amir."
"Yeah?"
"How many class periods does Amberlee have with him?"
Amir thinks for a moment. "I think like three."
Max looks over at Lucas. "Why what are you thinking?"
Lucas shakes his head a little bit. "I don't know maybe it's nothing just...I saw two occasions with the way he was looking at her and maybe I'm just overthinking or....I don't know."
