Connected Stories part 3 (Even MORE Ooouuu)

For those of you who haven't read Dear Family here is a summary of it! Although you all should read it for yourselves since this story makes ALOT more sense after reading it.

Shock and confusion.

That is all Lucas feels right now as he looks at the many of articles that is on the living room table, but as he sits there and looks at it with his eyes the more his anger begins to surface.

"Dad..."

Lucas looks up at Amberlee, seeing how her and Amir sit next to each other, everyone being gathered around. "Someone...better explain to me what the hell is going on right now or I swear...."

"Lucas they found these articles." Nancy motions.

"Ambie...found most of them." Amir says.

"Seriously?!" She whispers harshly at him.

"For god sakes he scares me!"

Lucas looks over at them, Amir immediately looking down at Amberlee lightly playing with her hands.

"I had my reasons Dad." Amberlee says. "Things were being said in school—"

"Amberlee." Lucas mentions firmly. "No."

"But—"

"Lucas."

Lucas turns around, his face immediately filling with concern when he sees dried tears on Max's cheeks as well as new ones, her eyes lightly red, letting him know she has been crying. Lucas immediately goes over to her, cradling her face softly, the back of his hand filling her lightly hot head.

Lucas brings her in for a hug, Max hugging him back while closing her eyes. Lucas slowly opens his eyes up more, his jaw clenching as he turns around to look at everyone. "Why?" He questions. "We agreed DAMMIT!" He booms out. "This isn't GOOD for her!"

"Lucas." Max takes his hands, Lucas looking back at her. "It was my idea to tell them, she's going to find out anyways."

Lucas swallows a little, him looking over at Amberlee before looking back at Max. "Max—"

"I'm fine." Max assures him. "Just...please don't be mad at me—"

"No no no." He immediately says softly, going to cradle her face. "I'm not mad at you love, I'm not."

Max nods her head, Lucas letting her lean on him as he holds her. He puts her head on his chest while he looks back at the different articles, his jaw clenching hard while he closes his eyes.

"We were....after the gates opened." Dustin breaks the silence.

"Just the perfect part." Lucas says in a bitter tone. "Why the hell do you both want to know so badly?"

Amberlee and Amir both glance at each other. "Dad umm...today I got in trouble because...these two girls commented on how mom should just be a pile of bones."

"What?!" He exclaims.

"That was my exact reaction." Amberlee says. "They say stuff about you too Dad but I don't understand why which angers me, so I kind of punched them." Amberlee says. "All I want to understand is why these things are being said towards you guys, I know something happened, I just want to understand."

"We both do." Amir adds in.

Lucas closes his eyes briefly, him going to guide Max to sit down. "Okay I could...understand that." He says while sitting down next to Max. He sighs while he runs his hand through his hair. "Dammit."
