Chapter 1. Keep my family safe

*Four years later Ace their son is now four years old*

Aria POV
"Mommy is dad coming home yet?" Ace asked me while we were coloring in the kitchen. "H-he s-should b-be h-here a-any m-minute n-now. W-wanna g-go w-wait f-for h-him b-by t-the d-door s-so w-we c-can s-show h-him o-our p-pictures."

He nodded his head happily and excited. "Let's go mom." He grabbed my hand rushing me towards the front door so we could wait for Caleb to walk inside the house.

"Look dad me and mom made you these pictures." He showed Caleb both of the pictures proudly. "There nice Ace why don't you go put it on the fridge." He ushered him to go in the kitchen.

He looked at me the whole time making me blush. I turned around ready to follow Ace into the kitchen to help him put the pictures on the fridge.

"I didn't tell you to go with him princess." He gently grabbed my arm turning me back around. "I w-was t-trying t-to g-go h-help h-him." I explained to him getting nervous suddenly.

"He's a big boy now he knows what he's doing." He adamantly said. "Where's my kiss princess you know I don't like waiting."

I looked away from him shyly standing on my toes so I could reach his lips. He leaned down a little so I could reach him letting me kiss his lips. "I missed you princess." He said pulling me in for a hug.

"I m-missed y-you t-too d-daddy." He kissed my lips once more. "Always look so beautiful." He complimented grabbing my hand so we could walk together in the kitchen.

"Ace come here I got you something." He ran towards Caleb right into his arms so Caleb would pick him up. "What is it?" He asked him curiously.

Caleb smiled at him kissing his head softly pulling something out his pocket from inside his suit jacket.

It was a small M3 BMW toy car. "Look mommy he got me my dream car." He showed me kissing Caleb's cheeks to thank him.

"Y-you c-can g-go a-add I-it t-to y-your c-car c-collection I-in y-your r-room." Caleb let him go so he could go upstairs to put it in his room.

"Stop running Ace your gonna hurt yourself!" Caleb yelled which Ace complied to listening to him.

"I'm gonna play in my room for awhile!" He yelled from the top of the stairs so we would know. "Go ahead don't make a mess in your room."

Caleb walked into the living room I followed behind him while he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. he sat down on the couch I stood between his legs.

His hands firmly settled on my waist keeping me in place forcing me to keep my eyes on him. "I need to talk to you about something princess." His voice was stern letting me know this was something serious.

"O-okay." I answered letting him know I was listening. "I'm leaving for a couple of days I don't know how long I'll be gone for."

My heart sunk feeling heavy in my chest. "W-why? P-please d-don't g-go." I hugged him tears threatening to fall out of my eyes.

"I have to princess if I don't go bad things will happen and I don't want anyone hurting you or Ace." He explained making me even more worried now.

"B-but w-what I-if y-you g-get h-hurt t-then w-what w-will I d-do? H-how w-will I k-know I-if y-your o-okay?"

"Relax princess I will call you every chance I get don't worry about me I will come back to you I promise." He tried to pinky promise me but I refused. Knowing their was a good chance he could potentially get hurt or even end up dead.

"N-no p-please y-you c-can't g-go I n-need y-you o-our s-son n-needs y-you." I cried squeezing his shirt in my hands. "Please don't cry princess I know this is hard for you but I can't risk yours and Aces life."

He wiped my tears letting me hug him. "I promise I'll call you and Ace. I'll come home to both of you." He kissed my cheek trying his best to comfort me but I had a really bad feeling about this.

"D-daddy p-please j-just s-stay w-with m-me a-and A-Ace." I looked at him pleadingly but he had his mind made up already. "I can't princess I have to keep you and Ace safe."

I hated this so much but I knew no matter how much I begged him not to go he wouldn't change his mind it would just be useless.

Ace came running into the living room I looked away so he wouldn't see me crying but he already noticed. "Why is mommy crying daddy?" He asked Caleb.

"Daddy has to leave for a few days mommy is just excited because your great grandma Lydia is coming over aren't you princess?"

He asked me lying to Ace because he was too young to understand what he was actually going to do. I nodded my head to answer with a fake smile more tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Mommy don't cry." He hugged me Caleb looked at me I knew he hated seeing me cry but I hated being away from him especially when he went because of threats like this.

The door bell rang I knew it was Lydia I couldn't do this anymore I rushed upstairs to our bedroom so I could calm down.

"Princess." I ignored him. He came in front of me I kept my head down avoiding his eyes. "Look at me princess don't do that I know your upset about this but I can't let anything happen to any of you."

I still avoided his eyes my tears making it hard for me to see. "Look at me princess please." He begged but I couldn't do it. "I'll make this up to you princess." He kissed my lips despite me ignoring him.

"I love you too much I can't risk you getting hurt or our son please try to understand me princess." I hugged him all my tears wetting his shirt.

"Y-your s-so m-mean a-and u-unfair r-right n-now b-but I l-love y-you s-so m-much." I cried while hitting his chest angrily.

"P-please c-come b-back t-to m-me s-safely. I c-can't d-do t-this w-without y-you." He grabbed my wrists stopping me from hitting him, pulling me into his chest.

"I promise princess I will come home safely to you and our son." He kissed my head wiping my tears.

He picked me up cradling me in his arms letting me cry holding me for as long as I needed so I could feel as close to him as possible before he leaves.
