Chapter 64. Thankful

Caleb POV
Aria fell asleep next to me on our bed after I calmed her down from what happened in our bedroom.

I was still pissed off about it but Aria was the only reason I didn't let out all my anger on Lydia. I didn't want her to see how angry and ruthless I could get. I wasn't going to let her see that and end up scaring her.

She had enough fear in her heart already I didn't want to add more to it. "Caleb can we come in?" Matteo knocked on my bedroom door. "Come in." He walked inside with his daughter Isabella.

I sat up in the bed covering Aria. She whimpered softly grabbing onto my shirt out of fear that I was leaving her. "I'm not going anywhere princess. Just sleep." She closed her eyes again after I kissed her cheek.

She kept a tight grip on my shirt not letting go any time soon. "We can leave if it's not the right time." Matteo said. "No it's fine." Isabella walked over to me giving me a hug.

"Thank you for helping my dad Caleb." She thanked me. "I will always help your dad Isabella you don't need to thank me for anything." She smiled at me appreciatively.

"Tomorrow were having a cookout. Do you think you and your wife can come?" She asked me shyly. I looked at Matteo to see if he was okay with it before I responded to her. "Sure we will be there."

"Thanks Caleb. I owe you and your whole team a lot. If you need me for anything let me know I will be there to help. You have no idea how thankful I am." Matteo said thankfully. "Just keep your family safe Matteo."

"Thank you Caleb." He said once more before leaving my bedroom with his daughter Isabella. I laid back down pulling Aria on top of me to sleep. She laid her head on my stomach wrapping her arms around my torso.

My hand slipped inside the back of her shirt scratching her back softly to help her sleep even more. "D-daddy a-are y-you o-okay?" She asked me half asleep with her eyes closed. "I'm fine princess go to sleep."

She lightly kissed my stomach with her eyes closed. "D-daddy i d-don't w-wanna s-sleep a-anymore." She complained getting up from laying on top of me.

I cradled her in my arms pushing her hair out of her face. "Your so pretty princess." She smiled softly while rubbing her eyes to wake up.

She pulled my head down kissing my lips. "I w-want s-some c-chocolates d-daddy. B-but I w-want t-the m-milk c-chocolate L-Lindt y-you k-know w-which o-one I-I'm t-talking a-about r-right?"

I laughed softly at the way she described so specifically what she wanted. "You have a pantry full of those chocolates princess did you forget?" Her eyes widened and twinkled with joy and happiness.

She jumped out of my arms getting ready to run out of our bedroom. I grabbed her elbow stopping her from moving. "Don't even think about running down stairs princess. Take your time your chocolates aren't going anywhere."

"F-fine b-but I-I'm n-not s-sharing m-my c-chocolate w-with y-you." She complained because I wouldn't allow her to runoff like she wanted to. "That's fine princess as long as your not hurting yourself."

She huffed crossing her arms while looking at me. "B-but I w-wanna g-get d-downstairs f-fast. I h-have l-little l-legs n-not b-big g-giant l-legs l-like y-you." She whined pleading to me.

"No princess. You'll be fine walking downstairs. Ace isn't allowed to run in the house neither are you princess." She stomped her foot whining at me.

"P-please d-daddy. P-pretty p-please." She begged me making me smile a little giving her high hopes. "No princess." Her smile disappeared returning to her angry pout again.

"Y-your s-so m-mean." She whined again. She stomped her way out the bedroom. "I love you princess!" I shouted while laughing at her. "N-no y-you d-don't!" She shouted back.

I got up from the bed so I could go downstairs as well. Aaron and Zane were joking around in the living room with Angelo and Matteo. "Look who finally decided to join us." Angelo said sarcastically.

I sat next to Aaron on the couch grabbing the remote to the tv to put a movie on. "Did your toe grow back Zane?" I asked him. He smacked his teeth getting annoyed already by my simple question.

"Shut up Caleb. I can barely walk on my foot properly because of this bullshit." He complained. "You'll be okay sweetheart." Aaron said to him making all of us laugh including him.

"Keep calling me your sweetheart Aaron I won't hesitate to tell Layla that your secretly in love with me." Zane threatened Aaron. "You wouldn't dare you asshole." Aaron said. "Try me." Zane replied smiling in victory.

"Matteo is having a cookout tomorrow are you guys coming too?" I asked them. "Yeah I'm going if your going." Aaron said. "I'm going too what I look like staying home." Zane said.

Ace came running into the living room towards me. "Dad! Dad! Mommy asked if we can go get ice cream?" He asked me excitedly. I looked behind me Aria was standing right outside of the living room entrance.

"Let me think about it." She groaned angrily making me laugh. "Y-your s-so m-mean." She argued. "The ice cream parlor is closed princess. You should have asked earlier when you were being a good girl."

"Dad stop being so mean to mommy. It's your fault we couldn't get ice cream because you were sleeping all day." Ace defended Aria. "You both could have still asked me."

"Come on mommy. Daddy is being mean." Ace said grabbing Arias hand to walk away from me. "H-he d-doesn't l-love u-us a-anymore." Aria said loud enough for me to hear while they walked away from me.

I got up from the couch to follow them. They both started running away from me giggling to themselves. "Stop saying that princess. You know I love you both more than anything in this whole world."

"No you don't dad. You won't get us ice cream your basically saying you don't love us anymore."Ace said hugging Aria. "Right mom?" He looked up at Aria. "Y-yup." She agreed smiling at me in a teasing way.

I tried walking towards them but they would walk back taking steps away from me while laughing. "I will buy you guys some ice cream tomorrow." I reasoned with them.

They both looked at each other again as if they were talking to each other with their eyes. "Promise us first." Ace said smartly. "Y-yeah." Aria said making me laugh.

"You guys are so bad. I promise I'll buy you guys ice cream tomorrow." I said defeatedly. "Good but that doesn't mean you love us yet. You have to buy us the ice cream first." Ace said.

"Your really clever Ace. I'll take that but you both aren't allowed to cuddle with me until tomorrow." Their eyes widened making me laugh. They both walked over to me trying to touch me.

"N-no w-were s-sorry d-don't d-do t-that p-please." Aria begged. "You can't do that to us dad. You know we love cuddling with you." "Too bad. Too sad for both of you." I teased them walking away from both of them.

"H-he's s-so m-mean. F-freaking g-giant m-meanie." Aria yelled angrily. "Keep talking princess I'll add another day of no cuddling." I threatened. "Shh mom don't let him do that now." Ace said to her.

"Tell her Ace she's going to make it worse for the both of you." I shouted back. I walked back into the living room sitting with the boys again.

Do you guys like the longer chapters that are 2,000 words or more? Or do we like the normal length chapters better that are 1,300 words? I just want to know. Hope you guys are enjoying the story.
