Chapter 60. Quiet day

Aria POV
All the men were in Caleb's office figuring out a plan to help find Matteo's daughter. Matteo brought over a few of his people including his brother Angelo.

Me and Layla were watching Ace and Max play in the living room. Sammy couldn't come over today because she was helping Lydia with something. I was getting bored being in the house all day "l-let's g-go p-play I-in t-the s-snow I-in t-the b-backyard."

"Please mommy can we go?" Ace begged as soon as he heard what I said. "W-we c-can g-go b-but f-first y-you h-have t-to g-get d-dressed." He got up quickly running upstairs to get his coat and gloves to play in the snow.

Layla put Maxes coat on and hers while I walked towards the stairs to get my coat from upstairs as well. I noticed Caleb walking out of his office with a few other men that I didn't recognize.

Caleb noticed me looking I quickly looked away trying to act casual by walking upstairs again. "Princess." He said making me turn around on the stairs to look at him. "Where are you going?" He asked me.

"I-I'm t-taking A-Ace w-with M-Max a-and L-Layla t-to p-play I-in t-the b-backyard i-in t-the s-snow." I answered him. He walked up the few steps that I went up on the stairs. "Don't be out there too long I don't want you and Ace to get sick."

I nodded my head. He kissed my forehead "make sure you put on a coat princess." "I k-know." I kissed his chest looking up at him for a kiss on my lips. He leaned down a little making me have to stand on my toes the rest of the way to reach his lips.

"You'll be a good girl for daddy won't you princess?" "Y-yes d-daddy." He kissed my lips once more "I have to go now I'll come back when it's dinner time." "O-okay." I hugged him before he walked back down the stairs to leave with the men that followed him out his office.

I went up the rest of the stairs to get my coat and help Ace put his gloves and coat on as well so we could go play in the snow. "You guys ready to go?" Layla asked me and Ace. "Yup." Ace replied.

I opened the back sliding doors so we could go in the backyard. Ace and Max ran out the house together already making snowballs to throw at each other.

"Let's make a snowman Aria." Layla started forming a ball with the snow so we could make the snowman. I helped form the second ball of snow to make the snowman.

                                1 hour later...

We were throwing snowballs at each other after we finished making our snowman we joined Ace and Max in their snowball fight against each other.

We all got tired and hungry so we decided to go back inside the warm house. "So warm." Layla said taking off her coat and gloves as soon as she got inside.

"G-go s-sit a-at t-the d-dinner t-table w-with M-Max A-Ace." I told him so me and Layla could set the table so everyone could eat. "I'll go get them to come eat." "O-okay." She walked towards Caleb's office while I finished bringing the food to the table.

I went back in the kitchen so I could make Max and Ace their plates. I could hear the men who were in Caleb's office loud foot steps coming towards the dining room. I finished making Aces and Maxs plate.

I carried their plates to there little dinning area putting it down on the table in front of them so they could start eating. "Thank you mommy." Ace said. "Y-your w-welcome b-baby." I kissed his cheek and Maxs as well before I walked away.

When I walked into the dining room everyone was seated the room looked crowded but huge at the same time to fit everyone who was here. "Princess come sit on my lap." Caleb said once he noticed me.

I avoided looking at anyone just focusing on Caleb. I sat on his lap everyone looked straight at me and Caleb. I smiled softly to greet them. "Quit staring and eat." Caleb told them which they all complied to because they all started eating again and minding their own business.

"You okay princess?" He asked me while feeding me our food. "Mhmm." I smiled softly at him so he wouldn't worry. He kissed my cheek feeding me more of our food.

I made sure he was eating as well and not just me. Everyone was quiet eating in silence. It felt tense but you could tell they were just worn out from searching for Matteo's daughter.

I felt bad for Matteo I knew his daughter was very scared. I hope this never happens to me and Caleb I couldn't imagine how his wife probably felt. I haven't seen Matteo's wife. He hasn't even mentioned her at all yet.

I was curious about it but that was none of my business. So I kept to myself letting my thoughts run with all the possibilities of why he didn't mention his wife at all.

Matteo got up from his seat barely eating anything from his plate walking away from all of us without a word. "I'll go check on him." Angelo said following Matteo outside.

Soon everyone else got up from their seats to go in Caleb's office again. "I have to go princess I'll probably come in the room late tonight so watch a movie or try to sleep don't sleep if your too scared just wait for me."

"O-okay d-daddy." He pecked my lips before getting up to leave to his office again. Layla and me took everyone's plates in the kitchen to get washed and put away.

Layla and Max were staying the night with us because Aaron was helping Caleb with Matteo. I got Ace ready for bed after he took a bath. "Goodnight mommy." I kissed his head tucking him into the blanket to sleep. "G-goodnight b-baby."

I turned off his light before closing the door to his bedroom. I walked quietly towards my bedroom. "Goodnight Aria." Layla said before she walked inside her bedroom. "G-goodnight L-Layla."

I walked inside my room changing into one of Caleb's shirts before I got into the bed. I turned on the tv. The tv would help and distract me from realizing that I'm falling asleep.

I cuddled an extra shirt that smelled like Caleb to help me sleep a little more at ease and worry free from my scary nightmares.

I heard the bedroom door open Caleb walked inside looking exhausted. He walked over to me laying right on top of me hugging my waist while his head was resting on my breast.

I brushed my fingers through his hair he groaned approvingly. "Your going to make me fall asleep princess." He muttered against my chest. "I have to go back downstairs to help them." He finished saying.

"B-but y-your t-tired d-daddy." He got up from laying on top of me standing back up on his feet again. "I know I am princess. But we don't have a lot of time to find his daughter. I'll be fine, you get some sleep I just wanted to check on my little princess."

He cupped my cheeks pecking my lips. "I love you princess." He pecked my lips again before I could respond to him. "I l-love y-you t-too d-daddy." "I know you do princess." He kissed the tip of my nose before he walked out of our bedroom to go help them downstairs.
