Chapter 18. Zane

Aria POV
After what happened in his office at work he went and took a nap with Ace on the couch while watching tv with him.

I was on the phone with Layla and Sammy for awhile catching up on some stuff cause we haven't seen each other for awhile.

I was getting bored so I decided I would join them in their little nap time. I made my way towards the living room where they were sleeping on our big comfy couch.

Ace was sleeping beside Caleb curled up in his side. Caleb was snoring softly I smiled trying to hold back my laughter.

They looked so cute and peaceful together I took my phone out so I could take a quick picture of them.

I carefully got on top of Caleb laying on my stomach on top of him instinctively he rubbed my back while staying asleep.

I didn't lay entirely on top of him cause I didn't want to squish him or make him uncomfortable while he slept. I kissed his hand closing my eyes letting sleep consume my body.

Aaron POV
"Aaron can we go over to Arias please even Max wants to go so he can play with Ace." Layla begged me holding Max in her arms.

"I was about to tell you we were going there." I explained to her making her smile and do a happy dance with Max in her arms.

"Did you hear that Max were going to see Ace and Aria." She spoke to Max making him giggle at her silliness. "Let's go I have to give Caleb these files." "Can you get my purse and Max's bag too?" She said walking towards the front door.

I grabbed their things and the car keys unlocking the car so she could put Max in his car seat. "You got it sweetheart?" I asked her to see if she needed help. "No I got it." She responded closing his door while I opened hers for her.

She got inside I closed her door walking over to the driver side so we could leave to Caleb's house.

"Do you think Caleb is still angry?" Layla asked me. "I don't think so cause when he's around Aria she calms him down." I explained to her.

"He can get so angry so fast it's scary." "That's just how he is. He's tries to control it at least he doesn't take it out on the wrong people but he's changed a lot Aria is helping him a lot."

"I was on the phone with her she told me she has a really bad feeling about something but she doesn't want to tell Caleb because she doesn't want to worry him cause he's stressed out about work." She told me.

"Did she say what the bad feeling is about?" I asked her. "No she said it might be nothing that she's probably just overthinking." "It might be nothing it's okay Caleb will figure it out."

We got to their house we all got out of the car. I didn't even bother knocking because this was like my second home.

It was unusually quiet in their house usually Aria and Ace were running around or doing something that just made the house fun and joyful all the time.

"Caleb!" I yelled but got no response. We went towards the living room at first I didn't notice them on the couch until I heard Aria whimper. They were all laying on the couch sleeping.

"Shhh I'm taking a picture don't wake them up." I whispered to Layla and Max who were smiling at them. "Aaron put the phone away before I smack you." Caleb suddenly spoke up making me drop my phone.

"How?! You were just sleeping. I don't understand how you can just wake up like that." Ace and Aria woke up looking at us all tiredly. When Ace noticed Max he got up running towards Max so they could go play.

Aria sat up from laying on top of him. Caleb pulled her into his arms covering her in the blanket.

"Aaron you can't whisper for shit I don't know why you told Layla and Max to hush when you should've told yourself that." He made fun of me.

"You just woke up and your already being mean to me. Aria you need to teach him how to be nice."

I told her sitting on the couch with Layla who was laughing at us. "Leave Aria alone she doesn't even like you." He said making me feel offended.

"See now that's not true because me and her were friends way before you and her got together right Aria?" she nodded her head yes trying to be discreet about it.

"See I told you. Your just a grumpy giant." Layla and Aria laughed at my comment. He looked at Aria with an almost angry expression for laughing at him. "Don't be mad Caleb it's only the truth." I added making him even more annoyed.

"Layla get him or you won't have a husband anymore." He warned Layla making her smack my arm to shut up. "T-this I-is p-pay b-back f-for b-being m-mean t-to m-me a-at t-the p-park." Aria told him.

"Come on Aria let's go in the kitchen." Layla said Caleb let her get up from his lap kissing her lips quick before she left with Layla.

"Here I brought you the other files to hide while we look for the other file that was stolen." He grabbed them from my hands getting up. "Lets go in my office." I followed behind him.

"Caleb I don't know what's going on or how but me and Sage can't find out who Silas brother is this is stressing me out because I feel like we have no control over anything If we don't find out his name or who he is."

He opened the small safe in his desk putting the files inside then locking it again. "I think we're going to need to call Zane from London to come here." I suggested.

"I already did he's right behind you." I turned around he was in fact standing behind me just as tall as Caleb but one inch shorter. "How the hell do you do that? I didn't even hear you come in." I said shocked by his quietness.

"Your still as short as an ant." He said making Caleb laugh at me. "I'm not short I'm literally one inch shorter than you." I defended myself. "Whatever your still short." He adamantly said.

"Man I haven't seen you guys in awhile." He said sitting down in a chair next to me. Zane was just like Caleb but no one could compare to Caleb's ruthless behavior.

Zane was known for his quietness he was really good at stalking and getting information quick without you even noticing he was there. "What am I doing here Caleb?" He asked.

"I need some help." Caleb simply answered. "My help? That's weird hearing you say that you never need help." He said shocked with Caleb's request.

"Zane stop pointing out things I'm stressed out enough either help me or get the fuck out my house and go back to London." Caleb argued getting angry.

"Chill you know I will help you and Aaron with anything. Just tell me what you need and I'll make sure it's done before you even realize it." He told Caleb getting serious now.
