Chapter 143. A set up

Caleb POV
Tuesday, 3:45 a.m....

Ring, ring, ring... my phone rang on my nightstand waking me up from my sleep. I pulled my arm from around Arias waist to answer my phone to see who could be calling me at this hour.

"Hello." I answered my phone holding it up to my ear. "Sir I'm sorry for calling you this late at night but we need you to come to the warehouse immediately." Sage explained to me over the phone.

"Alright I'll be there in an hour." I told her. "I'll see you when you get here." Sage said before hanging up. I put my phone down on the nightstand getting out of the bed slowly so Aria wouldn't wake up.

I walked into the bathroom to use the bathroom and brush my teeth. I didn't know what was going on at the warehouse I just knew it wasn't good.

Sage only called me when it was emergencies so I knew right away that something was wrong. I finished up in the bathroom and went in my closet to get some clothes to get dressed in.

Aria always helped me pick out a suit and tie to wear to work every night before I went to work the next day. I loved how happy she would get when she picked out a nice outfit for me.

I quickly got dressed up in the suit and tie she picked out for me last night before we went to sleep. I looked in the mirror straightening out my tie quickly before walking out of the closet.

I looked over at the bed she was still sleeping peacefully and beautifully as always. I didn't want to wake her up but I knew she would be even more upset with me if I didn't wake her up before I left.

I walked over to her side of the bed sitting next to her gently rubbing her back to wake her up. She turned around facing me with her eyes still closed. I leaned down kissing her lips softly to wake her up a little more.

Her eyes fluttered open slowly as I kissed her lips once more to wake her up. She looked at me smiling tiredly. "W-what t-time I-is I-it?" She asked me sleepily.

"It's 4:15 a.m." She blinked tiredly hardly being able to stay up. I knew she was exhausted because of staying up the past few nights not sleeping at all because of her nightmares.

"A-are y-you l-leaving d-daddy?" She asked me with her eyes closed. "I am it's an emergency I'm sorry princess." She opened her eyes again her eyes glossy with tears this time.

"Y-you w-will c-come b-back h-home l-later r-right?" She asked me. "Yes princess." I answered her kissing her nose softly to cheer her up so she wouldn't cry.

I brushed her hair out of her face kissing her cheek softly. "Daddy always comes back home to you don't I?" I asked her while admiring her beautiful brown eyes.

"Mhmm." She replied to me keeping eye contact with me. "My pretty girl." I whispered softly making her smile. "B-be s-safe f-for m-me p-please."

"Only for you princess." I kissed her lips once more before standing back up tucking her in the blanket with her stuffed animals. "Sleep tight princess I love you so much." I kissed her forehead as she closed her eyes.

"I love you t-too d-daddy." She whispered sleepily as I gave her one last kiss on her lips before leaving our bedroom. I went to check on the quadruplets to make sure they were sleeping and safe.

They were all sleeping soundlessly I closed the door slowly so I wouldn't make any sudden noises that could wake them up. I walked down the hall to Aces room to check on him as well.

I walked into his bedroom he was in a deep sleep I pulled the covers over him tucking him into the blanket properly. I kissed his forehead softly before leaving his bedroom to let him sleep.
