Aria POV
I woke up from a nightmare tears streaming down my cheeks as I turned on my side to scoot into Caleb's arms to comfort me back to sleep again. But Caleb wasn't in the bed his side of the bed was empty I sat up looking around in our dark room searching for him but he was nowhere in our bedroom.
I uncovered myself from the blanket slipping on my comfy fluffy house shoes to go look for him. I walked out of our bedroom noticing that the lights in the kitchen were on downstairs.
I walked down the stairs slowly so I wouldn't fall or miss a step on accident. I walked towards the kitchen but he wasn't in there so I walked into the living room the back sliding doors were open.
He was standing outside smoking a cigarette lost in his thoughts not noticing me behind him. I walked towards him hugging him from behind wrapping my arms around his waist laying my head against his back.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" He asked me finally noticing me. "I w-woke u-up f-from a b-bad d-dream a-and y-you w-weren't t-there." I explained to him.
I pulled away from him so I could stand in front of him instead. He didn't even bother to look at me he just continued to smoke his cigarette and stare off into the darkness of our backyard.
I grabbed his hand he pulled it away from me taking a step back from me as if he was angry with me or didn't want me to touch him. I ignored his weird behavior reaching out to grab his hand again.
Just like the first time he pulled his hand away from me not allowing me to touch him. I frowned getting upset with him now. "D-daddy." I called for him trying to get his attention needing his comforting touch.
"Don't call me that." He snapped almost yelling at me but he said it in a more calm but angry manner instead. "B-but y-you l-like w-when I c-call y-you d-daddy a-and I l-like I-it t-too." I said staring up at him confused.
He stayed quiet not responding to me or looking at me. I took a step forward towards him quietly so he wouldn't notice and step back away from me again I couldn't take his rejection again of not letting me touch him or be near him.
"D-did I d-do s-something w-wrong C-Caleb?" I asked him calling him by his actual name so he wouldn't get angrier. "No but I'm tired of you." He replied dryly hurting my feelings a little with his dry response.
"D-do y-you w-want m-me t-to l-leave y-you a-alone?" I asked him. He stayed quiet again not responding to me again.
I stepped forward again towards him trying to hug him but he pushed me away causing me to tumble back away from him almost making me fall.
He never pushed me away like this before I could tell he was angry but even when he was even angrier than this with me he never put his hands on me or pushed me away when I needed his touch or comfort.
I began to cry not being able to control my tears of being rejected by him. I knew he loved to be mean to me but he was never this mean to me it was like someone was playing a sick joke with me right now.
"D-da-.. C-Caleb p-please s-stop b-being m-mad a-at m-me I-I'm s-sorry f-for m-making y-you u-upset I n-need y-you." I cried to him but he didn't seem to care that I was crying.
He threw his cigarette on the floor stepping on it with his foot to get rid of the smoke. "Would you stop crying for once please." He said with annoyance in his voice.
I wiped my tears away happy that he was at least talking to me instead of giving me the silent treatment. "Listen Aria we need to talk but I need you to stop crying." He called by my name instead of princess like he usually does.
