Chapter 42. Butterflies

Aria POV
I cuddled up on the couch with Mr Tree and Mr Tinkles watching Sleeping beauty on the tv because I couldn't sleep from my nightmares. I let Caleb sleep because he has been stressed out these past few days.

After Aces birthday like Caleb promised he explained to me why Lydia was being so mean to me. Lydia just liked Emma more than me and there was nothing me or Caleb could do other than distance ourselves from her.

I was really starting to see her as a mother because she made me feel like she loved me as if I was her daughter. I didn't let this get to me but it still made me feel like I was being betrayed.

Small tears slipped out of my eyes from thinking about how horrible they were treating me on Aces birthday. Caleb was right I was way too kind to people who didn't deserve my kindness.

They all seen my kindness as a weakness and took advantage of it to hurt and humiliate me in the end. I wiped my tears I wasn't going to let them run over me again and ruin my mood or day.

I went upstairs to go back in my bedroom. I walked over to Caleb's side of the bed where he was sleeping. I tapped his nose softly pecking his lips with a small kiss to wake him up.

I leaned half of my body against him while laying my head on his chest. He moved around a little running his fingers through my hair with his eyes still closed.

I was silent for a few minutes just enjoying the feeling of his fingers brushing through my hair with my eyes closed. "D-daddy" I called for him softly almost whispering.

"Yes princess" he answered with a sleepy voice. My cheeks flushed red just at the sound of his sleepy voice "n-no-nothing" i stammered getting shy now.

He sat up on the bed I looked up at him while he yawned tiredly. "Y-you c-can g-go b-back t-to s-sleep d-daddy I-I'm s-sorry f-for w-waking y-you u-up." "It's okay princess. Tell daddy what you needed."

My cheeks flushed even redder I completely forgot what I wanted his stupid morning voice caused this. "Prin-..." I covered his mouth with my hand stopping him from speaking any further.

"Shh" I told him slowly removing my hand from his mouth. He looked at me questioningly and confused. "What's wro-.." he began to speak again I covered his mouth again with my hand shushing him.

"S-stop t-talking d-daddy" I told him again I removed my hand again noticing a smirk forming on his lips. I looked away from him avoiding his eyes now "you can't handle hearing my voice is that what this is about princess?"

He asked me tauntingly making me more nervous and shy than I already was. "I-I'm g-going t-to m-make s-some b-breakfast" I said running out the room before he could speak again.

I could hear him laughing at me as I ran out the room to go downstairs. He always makes me so nervous and shy when I'm around him even after being with him for 5 years now he still manages to give me butterflies and make me melt.

My heart was racing from running away from him so quickly. "I thought you were making breakfast" he said right near my ear standing behind me. My eyes widened and my cheeks returned to their flustered state.

I tried moving away from him so I could start cooking but he then grabbed my arm turning me around to face him while pushing me back against the kitchen counter.

I avoided looking at him the best I could he looked down at me with the same smirk playing on his lips finding this amusing. "Look at me princess" he demanded. "N-no" I replied refusing to look at him.

"I didn't ask princess. Now look at me" he demanded once again giving me no choice but to look at him. I lifted my head up looking into his eyes my stomach fluttered with butterflies from staring into his eyes.

He softly brushed his thumbs against my hot flustered cheeks "you look so adorable when you blush at daddy like this." He softly kissed my lips making my stomach flutter even more now.

"Fuck if only Ace wasn't about to wake up" he groaned against my lips. He kissed my cheek quickly before pulling away from me "I'm gonna go get ready and then I'll come to help you make breakfast" he told me kissing my cheek once more before he left.

                         30 minutes later....

After we all ate breakfast I helped Ace get dressed and ready for the day. "Is anyone home!" Aaron said looking right at Caleb. "I don't think anyone is home right now" Caleb said returning the same energy as Aaron.

"Is uncle Zane coming over too mom?" Ace asked me. "G-go a-ask y-your d-dad I-I'm n-not s-sure b-baby" he quickly ran towards Caleb. I walked towards Layla and Sammy.

"Aria do you think Ace could sleep over the night with Ronnie? Max is coming already and a couple of Ronnie's friends." Sammy asked me. "I-I'll h-have t-to s-see w-with C-Caleb b-but I t-think h-he c-can" I explained to her. "Okay please ask him I don't want Ace to miss out on the fun."

"I-I'll g-go a-ask h-him n-now" I told her. "Okay thank you so much Aria" I walked over to Caleb who was holding Ace while he was crying.

"W-what's w-wrong b-baby?" I asked Ace rubbing his hand "uncle Zane isn't coming over today" he explained through tears. I looked at Caleb feeling bad for Ace "it'll be okay Ace he'll be here tomorrow" Caleb said to him trying to calm him down.

"Y-yeah a-and R-Ronnie I-is h-having a s-sleep o-over p-party a-and t-they w-want y-you t-to c-come t-too b-but y-you h-have t-to a-ask d-daddy f-first" he looked up at Caleb with less tears now.

"Can I go dad Max is going to be there too. I promise I'll be on my best behavior" he asked Caleb trying to convince him. "You can go. Call me if you wanna come home or if anything happens" Caleb sternly told him being very strict with Ace.

"I will dad" he kissed Caleb's cheek thanking him. "Make sure you listen to Sammy and Earl" Caleb added. "I know dad" Caleb put him down so he could kiss my cheek as well. "Thank you mommy." "Y-your w-welcome b-baby."

He ran towards Max going to play in the backyard with him. "What's wrong princess?" He asked me turning me around so I would look at him. "N-nothing I-I'll t-tell y-you l-later" I told him because I didn't want to talk about it now.

"We can go in the room now princess and talk about it you don't have to worry about keeping them company" he reassured me. "I-it's f-fine d-daddy I-I'm n-not I-in t-the m-mood t-to t-talk a-about i-it." "Okay no pressure princess just let me know when your ready."

He kissed the top of my head hugging me against his chest. "Daddy's precious little princess" he praised me making my stomach flutter with butterflies.
