Chapter 78. Anxious day

Aria POV
It's been a few days now since Caleb let me and Ace stay in his office for the whole day. He took off Friday like he promised and took us to get ice cream.

Today was my appointment at the doctors with Dr Ron to see how far along I am. Jerry was suppose to take me. Caleb said he would meet me there.

I finished getting dressed. Layla agreed to watch Ace for me until I got back from the doctors. I got in the car with Jerry he started driving towards the doctors office.

My phone started ringing with Caleb's name flashing on my screen. I answered it quickly excited to hear his voice. "Princess I'm not going to be able to make it to the appointment today." Caleb said over the phone.

"W-why?" I asked getting upset. "I have a really important meeting right now and it's going to take an hour to get through. I'm sorry baby I really wanted to come." He explained.

"O-okay n-next t-time." I said in the best way possible so I wouldn't sound upset and make him feel bad. "I'm sorry baby I really am. I promise I'll come to the next one." He replied sincerely.

I could tell he felt really bad about not being able to come. "I have to go now I love you princess." "L-love y-you t-too." I said before hanging up the phone.

"You alright Aria?" Jerry asked me noticing how my mood changed so quickly. "I-I'm f-fine. C-can y-you s-stop a-at t-the g-gas s-station?" I wanted to get myself something to drink and a snack before I went to the doctor appointment.

"Is this one okay?" He pulled into the first gas station he saw. "Y-yeah t-thank y-you." I got out the car Jerry quickly got out as well to follow me inside.

I got me some chips and a water. "Your total is 6 dollars and 34 cents." The guy said at the register. I paid with my card and grabbed my bag so we could leave.

Today they were going to do blood work as well at the appointment and I didn't eat or drink anything so, I knew they would have a hard time finding a vein because I didn't eat or drink anything.

I was getting nervous about going on my own. I wanted to just reschedule for another day when Caleb could come with me but we were almost there already.

Jerry pulled into the parking garage where Dr Ron's office was parking the car near the entrance. "Will you be okay on your own Aria?" Jerry asked me.

"Y-yeah." I replied getting out the car so I could go inside the office. I checked in with the receptionist before I sat down and waited for them to call me when Ron was ready.

I sat down alone away from everyone. There were other women with their husbands or boyfriends here waiting in the waiting room like I was.

My nerves started making me feel anxious making my palms sweat the more I sat here alone.

I felt like everyone was judging me as I sat there alone. A few of the girls that sat across from me a few feet away kept glancing at me and talking to their partner while staring at me.

I looked at my phone to act like I was busy doing something on it when really I was trying to ease my anxiousness from being here alone and to avoid getting stared at or judged.

I felt a single tear slip down my cheek and then another tear soon roll down the same cheek again. "Princess." I heard Caleb's voice but I kept my head down thinking my mind was playing tricks on me now.

I felt someone touch my arm. I pushed it away almost angrily thinking it was a stranger. "Princess." I heard Caleb's voice again. I looked up noticeably at him with more tears rushing down my cheeks.

He picked me up from my seat wrapping my legs around his torso letting me hide my face in his neck. "I'm sorry princess." He whispered to me kissing my cheek.

He sat down in the same chair I was sitting in. "I'm here now. No more crying relax baby." He wiped my tears kissing my nose playfully to cheer me up.

I laid my head on his chest holding his hand while we waited for Ron to call us. It was taking longer than usual this time. "Aria Blackwood Dr Ron is ready for you." The nurse finally called us in.

Caleb put me down grabbing my hand so we could follow the nurse to our room. She took my weight first before letting us into the room to wait for Ron inside.

"Dr Ron will see you in a moment." The nurse told us before closing the door. "You okay princess?" He asked me helping me sit on the exam table. "Mhmm." I said quietly wrapping my arms around his waist hugging him tightly.

He tilted my head up making me look up at him. His thumb softly brushed over my cheek while he stared down at me quietly.

"Your so precious baby. I'm sorry for telling you I wouldn't be able to make it." He apologized again. "I-it's o-okay y-your h-here n-now. B-but w-what a-about y-your m-meeting?" I asked him worriedly.

"Don't worry about that princess. Aarons handling it for me. Your more important to me than that boring meeting anyway." He replied kissing my lips softly making me smile while he kissed me.

We heard a knock on the door making us pull apart from each other. Ron walked inside the room with a smile on his face. "How are you guys today?" He asked us.

"Good. How are you?" Caleb replied to him. "I'm doing alright had to fire another employee today that should be enough to tell you how's my days going so far." Ron replied exhaustedly.

"Alright Aria. Let's get your blood work done first then we can find out how far along you are." He explained. A nurse walked into the room with a small table on wheels.

I grabbed Caleb's hand while the nurse gently grabbed my other arm. I looked away squeezing my eyes shut. I bit down on Caleb's hand when she started pushing in the needle into my arm.

He kissed my head. "Good girl. Your doing so good baby she's almost done." He allowed me to keep biting his hand not even flinching at how hard I was biting his hand.

I could feel her moving the needle in my skin. It felt so weird and painful at the same time. "Okay your all set." The nurse said finally taking the needle out and putting a bandaid on my arm where she pocked me.

"Alright lay down Aria so we can see how long you've been pregnant." Ron instructed me. Caleb helped me lay down making sure I was comfortable.

Caleb lifted my shirt up to my breasts for me so Ron could put the gel on my stomach. We looked at the screen to see what he was looking at.

"Your definitely pregnant but there's something odd I can't figure out what it is." Ron said making me feel nervous. "What do you mean Ron?" Caleb asked him.

"It's nothing serious from what I'm looking at. It might just be the way the baby is starting to form she's around 2/3 months pregnant. To be exact-." He took a moment to type something into the computer.

"She's 2 months pregnant now but will soon be 3 months in about two weeks." Ron finished saying. "Okay so everything is okay there's nothing wrong with her or the baby?" Caleb asked.

"Yes everything's perfect the baby is healthy and growing perfectly. Aria is healthy and great just needs to rest more. Her blood pressure is still on the high side but she's doing better." Ron confirmed to Caleb.

"You guys are all set to go home now. Congrats on your second pregnancy Aria." Ron congratulated me making me smile.

Caleb helped me sit up after Ron wiped the gel off my stomach. I got down from the exam table standing next to Caleb as close as possible. "You guys can come December 21st to find out the gender." Ron said.

"Thank you Ron." Caleb thanked him before we left the room. We walked out of the office. Jerry was no longer here only Caleb's car was.

I opened my door to get inside but Caleb stopped me closing the door again so I couldn't get in. "When I'm around I open the doors. Your only job is to be a good girl for me." He said strictly.

He opened my door letting me get inside this time. He kissed my cheek quickly before closing my door. He got in the driver side turning on the car so we could finally go home.
