Chapter 52: The Glacial Peak

Mario's Dream

Mario's head was going off the rails. The dream was in a dark room with Mario facing a giant door with numerous puzzles on it. He finished the last three puzzles but there were two more to go. He turned around and saw zombie versions of all the heroes and also the villains marching toward him.

As he focused on solving the puzzles, he noticed a lever that, when pulled, revealed a large handle similar to a safe. Upon turning the handle, he opened a door just in time to escape from the pursuing zombies. He breathed heavily and then saw America tied to a cross. Suddenly, King Rohan appeared out of nowhere and attacked from behind. However, he was deathly pale, his eyes were red and glowing, and his fingers had turned into sharp claws.

The king grabbed Mario and snapped his neck within seconds.

End of Mario's Dream

Inside Samus' ship, Universe-30503020503

Mario yelped awake and 22 and Yoshi ran to his side. "Mario? Are you okay?" 22 asked.

"Yeah. Just...thinking about Rohan, Peach, and America..." Mario uttered.

"...Rohan'll be okay." 22 blushed. "Trust me...I've seen him fight. Also...He's kinda cute."

"Oh, you have feelings for him?"

"Maybeeeeeeeeeee........"

Suddenly, Rosalina's voice came on and said, "Samus? Are you guys okay?"

"We're here and still following you, Captain Falcon, and Olimar," Samus replied.

"Okay."

"Hey, guys," Mario said. "I have a plan: Me, Link, 22, Samus, Kirby, and Olimar should cover the ground, and the rest should cover the skies. Just in case."

"Seems like a good plan." Captain Falcon's voice replied.

Meanwhile at a mountain

Red, Leaf, Ike, Lucas, Marth, and Meta Knight had kept going on their journey in search of the Halberd. The six kept going and then made their way to a giant mountain with icy glaciers and snow.

Red took notice of the red clouds in the sky and there was the Great Fox in a battle against the Halberd. "What is that ship?"

The Great Fox was firing a barrage of green lasers and missiles at the Halberd but the enemy ship fought back. It fired at the same time but the Great Fox had a shield to block its attacks. The six looked from afar in safety.

"Is that your ship, Mr. Meta Knight?" Lucas asked.

"Yes. This might be my one chance." Meta Knight took a few steps forward and unfolded his wings. "Stay here in case anything happens. Be safe."

"Uh, you too??" Marth was confused.

Meta Knight suddenly flew into the air. Ike yelped. "Meta Knight, wait!"

But it was too late. Meta Knight flew away and began to scale the mountain that was mostly untouched by snow. His wings were able to help him climb faster. He then noticed two small figures climbing the mountain.

The figures looked young and had thick, warm parkas. One's parka was blue and the other's was light pink. They were both carrying mallets and helped each other up the mountain. The young girl of the duo smiled and asked, "You okay, Popo?"
