Chapter 70: The Final Battle

The egg finally fell apart and the heroes and villains emerged from the remains of the egg. America turned out alright and Bowser noticed that he was alive.

Mario was on his knees and holding a shell of the egg. "Yoshi..." he cried. Peach rubbed her hands on his shoulders and hugged him.

Rohan, Luigi, Toad, and DK all cried and needed some help. 22 gave Rohan a cheek kiss and Luigi got a hug from Daisy who also cried.

Rosalina felt hurt by Yoshi's death and then the heroes and villains heard a rumble. They looked up to face the cliff and...Tabuu emerged from the clearing dust, perfectly fine as if nothing happened. And there was America, looking as if she was sick, and the Smash Ball was also left untouched.

"No..." Rosalina uttered as everyone was in horror that the attempts were all in vain.

Mario glared at Tabuu, his hand still holding onto the eggshell. "YOU KILLED YOSHI!!!!" he dropped the shell, running and screaming toward Tabuu. He jumped high to release a punch but Tabuu blocked it like what he did with Master Hand and pushed him back.

Mario hit the ground and Peach and Luigi ran to him. Tabuu restored his wings and shouted, "Behold! Your heroes and villains! What fruit have they wrought? Only that you all shall finally know perfection! People of the Multiverse who have fought so hard yet so futile to be here, the time has come to rejoice and renounce your paltry gods! YOUR SALVATION IS AT HAND!!"

Tabuu released a blast from his body, harming all the heroes and villains. Atlas on the other side of the barrier banged on it. "Mama!! What's taking so long?!?"

"We're trying everything that we can!" Palkia said. "Nothing is working!"

Palutena groaned and Ridley coughed smoke. Tabuu released another blast and Marth screamed in pain. Mewtwo felt even more pain and Zelda grunted as she held onto Link.

Tabuu then fired a beam of dark energy which Link tried to fight back with the Master Sword but severely decayed the blade. Link was horrified as the Master Sword finally fell apart and shattered, leaving him with only the handle and guard of the sword. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" he cried out.

Tabuu only chuckled. "Was that the Sword that seals the Darkness? A blade that shatters so easily against my power cannot save you from me." He then released a wave of dark energy heading right toward Zelda.

"Zel!" Link ran to Zelda and tried to use the destroyed Master Sword but then the wave sliced off his left arm, letting go of the Master Sword. "AAAAAGH!!!!!"

"Link!!" Zelda ran to Link's aid.

Tabuu let out another laugh and released another blast, almost killing the heroes and villains. Mewtwo strained and Samus coughed some more blood. Lucario strained some more, his Aura still trying to stay strong.

Samus looked at the wounded Pikachu next to her and he uttered, "Pika..."

"Pikachu..." Samus weakly said. "...Why don't you run away? Save yourself?"

Pikachu smiled and, possibly in Samus' blunt traumatized head, spoke in English, "It's pi-cause...It's because I always want to be with you..."

Samus gasped with tears forming in her eyes. "Pikachu..."

Tabuu charged up his energy and prepared to release another blast. Samus quickly buried Pikachu in her body and Pit stood up to summon a rainbow-colored shield and protect Palutena. Tabuu released the third blast and everyone screamed in pain.

As the summoned heroes, Mei Ling, Atlas, Audrey, Slippy, Poo, and Master Hand watched in horror, the heroes and villains were nearly unable to stand up without feeling massive javelins of pain poking into their systems.
