The next morning I made my way to the music room again. I would've invited Sophia to come with me, but Daryl took her out first thing this morning to teach her how to use that crossbow. I walked around the room looking at all of the instruments that are in here, and ended up deciding to pick up the cello. I spent a good minute tuning it before I started to play. It's been a long time since I've played this specific instrument, but I'm glad I still remember how to play. I decided to sing and play at the same time."Just stop your crying, It's a sign of the times. Welcome to the final show. Hope you're wearing your best clothes. You can't bribe the door on your way to the sky. You look pretty good down here, But you ain't really good."
"If we never learn, we been here before. Why are we always stuck and running from, The bullets? The bullets? We never learn, we been here before. Why are we always stuck and running from. The bullets? The bullets?"
I heard someone walk in behind me, I didn't pay much attention to who it could be as I kept playing.
"Just stop your crying, It's a sign of the times. We gotta get away from here. We gotta get away from here. Just stop your crying, It'll be alright. They told me that the end is near. We gotta get away from here."
I now realized that the person who walked in was a three month pregnant Lori with Hershel. Lori was smiling at me to let me know it was okay to keep playing.
"Just stop your crying, Have the time of your life. Breaking through the atmosphere, and things are pretty good from here. Remember everything will be alright. We can meet again somewhere. Somewhere far away from here."
Hershel now looked at me and smiled as he sat back in his chair to watch me play. I really don't mind playing for people, but I was originally hoping it would just be me in here this time.
"We never learn, we been here before. Why are we always stuck and running from, The bullets? The bullets? We never learn, we been here before. Why are we always stuck and running from. The bullets? The bullets?"
I heard the door open again. Great. Maybe I should lock the door next time.
"Just stop your crying, It's a sign of the times. We gotta get away from here. We gotta get away from here. Stop your crying, Baby, it'll be alright. They told me that the end is near. We gotta get away from here."
Sophia was the one who entered the room. She just took a seat next to Lori. She must've asked to feel Lori's belly because Lori lifted her shirt just enough that her baby bump was showing.
"We never learn, we been here before. Why are we always stuck and running from, The bullets? The bullets? We never learn, we been here before. Why are we always stuck and running from. The bullets? The bullets?"
I saw Sophia and Lori looking at the doorway. I guess there's at least one person watching from back there too.
"We don't talk enough, We should open up, Before it's all too much. Will we ever learn?
We've been here before. It's just what we know.""Stop your crying, baby it's a sign of the times. We gotta get away. We got to get away. We got to get away. We got to get away. We got to get away. We got to, we got to, away. We got to, we got to, away. We got to, we got to, away."
I played the last few notes before putting down the Cello. Sophia looked at me with a wide smile. "That was beautiful mom." Lori's eyes widened at the fact that Sophia now calls me mom, but then she gave me a soft smile.
"Thank you Sopho. How was crossbow training?" I asked her.
"Daryl said I'm a natural."
I heard a grunt behind me. "Not what I said. I said yer not bad." I turned my head to look at him.
