Daryl's POV
When we got back home, we walked to the gate and heard a lot gunshots coming from inside of the prison. As I was running through the gates with a bag of medicine in my hands, I saw Rick. He was running up to me. "The hells goin' on in there Rick?" I asked him.
"It's A-block." He replied somberly. My eyes widened as I clutched onto my bag harder. I started running inside, Mae needs me. I have no idea why Rick isn't running in behind me, his daughter's life could be on the line. That's just an argument for later, after I save my wife.
Bob, Tyreese, Merle and I started running down the halls. All we can hear is the sound of people crying, whimpering, and screaming. I hope I'm not too late.
We tried to open the main door, but it was locked. We moved into the room with the viewing window, and saw that it was smashed. All four of us climbed in and started running into cells.
"Hershel!" I called out to him.
"Up here!" He yelled back at me.
Tyreese separated from us to go find Sasha. The rest of us ran up the stairs and into the direction Hershel called out from. We were searching cells until we finally found Hershel. He was shoving a breathing tube down Glenn's throat.
"We got the meds." Bob said while rifling through the bag to get out anything that Hershel needs.
"Where's Mae?" I asked frantically.
Hershel gave me a sad look. "She's with Maggie, down the hall. Maybe a few cells down." I immediately started running in the direction he pointed towards, while checking every single cell I passed. The next thing I saw caused my heart to drop.
Mae was lying on the floor. A pool of blood next to her mouth. Maggie is right beside her, and is holding her body sideways so she doesn't choke.
I ran to her side, and knelt down beside her. "Mae... Baby, I'm here."
"She can't hear you Daryl. She passed out." Maggie explained.
I repeatedly tapped on my wife trying to get her to wake up. "Yer gonna be okay." She started coughing up more blood. "That's it Princess. Yer gonna be fine." I started rubbing her back. I thought she possibly woke up, but Maggie shook her head. We kept her on her side until we were sure no more blood was coming out of her mouth.
"I need you to help me get her on that bed." Maggie nodded to the bed up against the wall. I agreed and we lifted her. Mae's body went limp as we placed her onto the bed.
"No, no, no." I patted Mae's face a few times. "Mae, I need ya to stay with me. Please, open yer eyes." It wasn't working, and I could feel my eyes starting to tear up at the thought of losing her. "Come on, Princess please. I need ya. The kids need ya. Stay with me please."
Maggie tried to find Mae's pulse and gave me a slight nod when she finally found one. "It's weak." She warned me, before she started yelling. "Daddy!!"
I joined her in yelling for her father. "Hershel, get in here!!"
It didn't take him long to find us. I moved out of the way so Hershel could help my wife. "What's goin' on Hershel?" I asked. "She was chokin' on her blood a minute ago, and now she's limp." I watched at he placed his head to her chest for a moment. I approached her again, just so I could place my hand on her face, and sweep some of her hair out of it. "I need ya to wake up. Soph needs ya, Seb needs ya." I brushed her face with my thumb, while feeling a tear run down my face. "I need ya.."
"Did you find anymore breathing tubes?" Hershel asked me.
"Yeah. A bunch of 'em." I answered not taking my eyes off of Mae.
