After Hershel cleaned and stitched up my leg, he asked me to take it easy. However we have a war upon us, so right now is not the time to be taking things easy.
We were all in our little dining area, arguing about what we should do. I sat at a table, T-Dog is on one side of me while my father is standing next to me on the other. Looking around the room, most eyes are locked on my father. Most. There is one set of eyes however that are locked right onto me, and no matter what is being said in this meeting his gaze on me never falters.
The argument is now back to whether we should leave or not. Hershel keeps arguing that we should leave. Which is so fucking stupid. We are not leaving. This is our home now and I will die fighting for this place if I have to.
"We're not leaving." My father was trying his best to stay calm, but was remaining authoritative.
"We can't stay!" Hershel was insisting.
"Are we really having this argument again?" All eyes were now locked on me. "I thought we talked about this earlier Hershel. We have fought way too hard for this place to just leave." I argued with him.
"If Rick says we're not leaving, we're not leaving." Glenn stated, agreeing with both my father and I.
"No, better to live like rats." My eyes drifted over to Merle who is locked in a small cell in the corner of our dining area. I can't believe he's agreeing with the old man. But from what I've heard about Merle, running is the thing he does best.
"Do you have a better Idea?" I asked him as I scowled in his direction.
"Yeah, should've slid outta her last night. Lived to fight another day." Merle stated. "Come on Gingersnap, you know what he's capable of. You saw what he could do that night."
He's not wrong. I very well know what this man is capable of. I indeed saw a bunch of shit that night that I will never unsee. However no matter what that man did to me, or what I saw that he could do, we're not leaving.
"Shut up Merle." I said in almost a growl.
"He'll have scouts on every road outta this place by now." Merle continued.
"We ain't scared of that prick." Daryl's voice made me tense up.
Merle cackled. "Y'all should be. That truck through the fence thing..... That's just him ringing the doorbell. If he gets his hands on any of ya, yer gonna wish ya were dead. He ain't one to trifle with." Merle then looks at both Michonne and I. "Gingersnap and My Nubian Princess over there understand don'tcha?"
Can he just stop bringing me into this? I swear I might take his other hand if he mentions me again.
Merle continued. "We might have some thick walls to hide behind, but he's got the guns and numbers. If he takes the high ground in this place, shoot, he could just starve us out if he wanted to."
"Can we put him in another cellblock?" Maggie asked. She's clearly getting annoyed by Merle as much as I am.
"Won't change nothin' darlin'." Merle said with a smirk on his face.
"Shut up!" Glenn screamed at Merle while holding Maggie back.
"Don't tell me what to do Chinaman!" Merle berated.
"Merle!" Daryl Scolded his brother.
"He's Korean, You Honky-Tonk Piece of shit!" I came to Glenn's defense. If Merle was going to be an asshole, he could be one properly.
"This is all you! You started this!" Maggie screamed in Merle's direction.
"No he didn't." I said. I truly believed that too. He may have taken us, but it's not his hand on the trigger right now. If anybody caused the Governor to act this way, It's me. I am the one who 'killed' his daughter after all.
