Everyone in our group is now standing next to the prison while my father cut a whole into the fence. Daryl was watching carefully to make sure no geeks came towards us. Soon enough my father finished cutting the hole in the fence and held it open so we could all squeeze our asses through. I heard my father telling everyone to hurry up as I went through the fence.

My father and Daryl were the last ones to come through the fence. Glenn quickly went to the fence and started closing it with wire. He finished just as a geek slammed itself into the fence. I took my knife out and stabbed it in the head. I couldn't let it stay there, it would attract others.

Daryl started walking the fence line and we all followed him. Eventually we made it to an open area making us all stop to look around the courtyard. "It's perfect." I heard my father say, making me smile. We need this. Then I turned my attention to all the geeks inside, they were noticing us and started walking over towards us. "If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick off these walkers. We'll take the field by tonight."

"How do we shut the gate?" I heard Hershel ask. I looked over at the old man that now resembles Santa Clause. "I'll do it. I'll just need you all to cover me." I said getting glares from my father.

"No. I'll go. I'm the fastest here." Glenn offered. My father was quick to shut it down though. "No. Glenn, Beth, Sophia, draw as many as you can over there. Pop 'em through the fence. Daryl, Nora, go back to the other tower. Hershel, take Carl to this tower. Maggie, you've become a pretty good shot, so go with Hershel and Carl. Everybody take your time. We don't have a lot of ammo to waste. I'll run for the gate."

As much as I hated my father risking his own life to run to the gate, I knew this was a good plan. We all then started grabbing guns, I grabbed a rifle and went to my tower with Daryl. I'm surprised my father put us together, knowing how much he doesn't like us together. I watched my father through the scope of the rifle as he started running towards the gate. We all started shooting the geeks that got too close to my father. I saw a bullet miss a geek and hit the ground by my Dad's foot. "Sorry!" Maggie yelled.

I saw a geek approaching my father. I aimed my gun at it, but then heard the awful sound of my gun clicking. I was out of ammo, and I didn't have time to reload. Without thinking I grabbed Daryl's crossbow and shot the geek that was almost about to make my father into it's dinner. My father then looked up at me and nodded in thanks. He then ran to the gate and shut it before running into the tower closest to him. Then I heard Daryl yell, "Light it up!"

I quickly reloaded my gun, and took out as many geeks as I could. After a few minutes of hearing nothing but gunfire, all the geeks had fallen. We did it, we cleared the courtyard. I put my gun down and smiled as I heard Daryl next to me. "If you can shoot a crossbow, why did I have to teach yer daughter how to use one?"

"Oh that's simple. You're much better with that thing than I am. If she's going to learn, she might as well do it from a pro. Now if she wanted to know how to slice and dice with a sword, I'd take over that lesson." I said as I left the tower with him, all he did was grunt behind me.

As we both entered the courtyard Sophia ran up to me and hugged me. I swear I'll never get over her hugs. I then heard her say. "Mom look we haven't had this much space since we left the farm!" I smiled down at her and kissed her head. She was right. I turned to look at the space around us and saw nothing but future possibilities.

We then started driving all of our vehicles into the area we had cleared. All of them except for my motorcycle. It broke down right before we came to the prison. I will miss that bike tremendously. Once all the cars were in the area, we got a fire going so that we could make some food.
