Nora's POV:
I was staring down at all the mask wearing freaks when Kelly came up the ladder and took the binoculars from me. The only reason I allowed her to take away my vision of my daughter is because Connie is out there with Avalon right now. I can't be constantly watching because of these masked freaks, so Kelly can be my eyes.
I decided that I needed to be the one to speak up. This may not be my home anymore but my daughters life is on the line out there. Plus I used to handle conflicts at Hilltop all the time. I would be the person they ran to, to handle dangerous situations. Well, this is a dangerous situation. And I'm handling it.
"This community is more than capable of defending itself." I yelled down to the one that wants to be called Alpha, also known as Lydia and James's Mother. It's a good thing she doesn't know Alexandria has James.
"I show you my face because we mean no harm." This 'Alpha' bitch spoke back to me. "I just want my daughter. I know you have her."
"Ya should turn around." Daryl growled at the freak below us. "leave now and no one gets hurt."
"Wrong answer." Alpha stated before throwing her hand up in the air. Not even a full second went by before a lot more of the freaks started making their way towards Hilltop.
As the freaks were walking up to our gate Kelly looked through the binoculars again to stare at the cornfield. I nudged her a little to tell her to tell me what she saw after she finally put them down. "They don't see them. Least not yet."
"Well, let's hope it stays that way." I whispered back to her.
"That girl told us what her mom does to her." Daryl told the crowd of us who were now on this lookout tower. "We ain't sending her back to that."
"We're not." I confirmed. "That bitch doesn't deserve her."
"But what if she has Alden and Luke?" I heard Tara ask, and I had absolutely no answer for that situation. Because if she does have them it would mean we have to give Lydia back. "Pissing her off could get them killed."
Magna then called out to Alpha. "Did you kill our friends? we found their horses."
"No." Alpha told us before smirking at all of us. "Which one of you leads these people."
"Oh, that would be Nonya." I smirked back at her evilly.
"Mae, don't." Daryl growled at me.
I continued anyway. "None your fuckin' business!"
"Mae. Shut up." Daryl scolded me.
"Then I'll just address all of you." Alpha told us. "Your people crossed into our land. There will be no conflict. Your people killed our people. There will be no conflict. I'm done talkin'. Bring me my daughter, or there will be conflict."
"Well then let me address you." I scowled at the woman below us, and immediately Daryl was trying to pull me back to shut me up but I pushed him off of me. "We didn't know we crossed into your land. There was never a conversation about where your land is, so we didn't know not to cross. And your band of skin wearing freaks tried to kill us first. So what we did? Yeah, that was self defence, Honey. Surely, you can understand that."
"Mae!" Daryl yelled at me. "Shut the fuck up!"
"How 'bout...." I pretended to think about my actions before tilting my head at my ex-husband. "No." Then before he could stop me I started walking down the ladder.
From above me I heard Daryl's voice say, "No one touches the girl." before he started following me down the ladder.
Once I was at the gate, Theo stopped me. "Mom, what's goin' on?"
