A/N: Before starting this chapter I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank everybody who have been reading this book. It just reached over 2k views and while that may not seem like a huge accomplishment, it is to me. So thank you all so much! Remember if you like reading this book make sure to comment and vote every once in a while! :) I want to hear all those pretty little thoughts lol.
As I left the house Dad was in so that he could get his 'beauty sleep', I started making my way over to Deanna's. As mad and disappointed I am in my father, I don't want him to get kicked out. If he gets kicked out, I know most of us will leave with him. I also know that I am in a condition where if I leave, I'll most likely die on the road. But I won't leave my father, no matter how unstable he's become.
As I was knocking on Deanna's front door, I was hoping Spencer wouldn't be the one to answer. He's been more and more creepy since he tried to kiss me at the welcome party. As of right now I don't think he's dangerous. He just makes me uneasy.
My prayers and hopes were answered when Aiden answered the door. "Well there's my saviour." He chuckled.
Him and Deanna have been treating me like I did the world's greatest deed by saving Aidens life. The both of them are treating me just like Mulan was treated AFTER saving China. On one hand it's nice to have their praise. It's nice to know they trust me. However on the other hand I know I didn't do anything special. Yes I saved his life, but we were out there together. I would've done that for anybody that went on the run with us. Even Nicholas.
"Hi Aiden." I smiled back at him. "Is your mom home?"
He nodded and led me into the house. "Are you okay?" He asked me. "After everything that happened yesterday. Are you and the babies okay?"
"Yeah, we're fine." I told him while putting a hand on my stomach. "Pete did a number on us."
"I see that." His expression changed into a more serious one. "I'm trying to convince my Mom to let your Dad stay." I looked at him, shocked. I thought he would have sided against my father after having a gun pointed at him. "I get it now. I didn't want to, but I do." He informed me. "After seeing all those roamers together like that..... After watching Nicholas freak out, trying to abandon all of us after getting Noah killed.... I get it."
Aiden is on our side?
I told my Dad we didn't need to go along with his ridiculous plan, and here's the proof.
I nodded. "Well since you want my father to stay, you can stay for the conversation I'm about to have with your mom."
He then led me outside to where Deanna was sitting on the balcony with a clipboard in her hands. When Aiden and I walked through the glass door, I looked around for Maggie, but she was nowhere to be found. Glenn said she was here. I guess her conversation with Deanna didn't go well.
Deanna glanced up from her clipboard to look at both Aiden and I. Her face fell when she saw my black eye. That's not the only bruise I have, but I'd rather not flash my stomach to her. With how big and dark the bruise is on my stomach, I'm surprised I didn't lose either of my twins. I was lucky.
"How are you feeling?" She asked me in a worried tone.
"I've been better." I told her honestly. "I wasn't expecting Pete to do this." I stood in front of her with my arms crossed, Aiden was right by my side. "Speaking of not expecting things...."
"We can talk about your father tonight." She shut me down quickly. "That way everyone's opinions can be heard on the subject."
"Look, I'm not dumb." I told her bluntly. "No matter the outcome of the meeting tonight, you're still gonna kick him out. I just want a few minutes to try changing your mind."
