It's been a week since we got back home. I haven't spoken to anybody about what happened after Maggie and I got kidnapped, but honestly there isn't much to say. We got kidnapped, sure. But those women really didn't do anything to us. I may have a bruised face and a cut leg. But let's be honest those were my doing. I annoyed the fuck out of 'Chelle.Maggie hasn't spoken to Glenn about it either. I wish she would, mainly so Glenn would leave me alone with his many questions. But also because I know she can be helped. Before that night neither her or Glenn had killed anyone, and I know that they are both having a hard time coping with what they needed to do.
I've come to terms with what happened. I've killed a total of sixty people now, and I never thought that killing someone would faze me again. But I burnt people alive and listened to their screams as their souls left their bodies. I am okay, but having to hear that was just..... a lot.
I walked outside to where Daryl was. He just got done working on his bike that we just took back after killing all of Negan's people. I sat down next to him on the steps while holding onto our son.
"You happy to have your bike back?" I asked him while adjusting Theodore in my arms.
"Yeah." He responded gruffly. "I guess." He finally turned to face me and softly smiled when he saw our son. "Where's the other one?" He asked as he grabbed Theo from me.
"Glenn took her." I smiled at him as he hugged onto our son. "He said something about having a Uncle-Niece day. Whatever the hell that means."
I can already tell that Avalon and Glenn are going to have a strong bond when she's older. The three people she loves most in this world right now are Daryl, Glenn, and I. It was really funny when Merle held her and Glenn walked in the house. She started crying instantly and tried gripping for Glenn. The second my Korean brother wrapped her up in his arms, she calmed down. It was hilarious how butt-hurt Merle was over that.
Daryl accepted my answer by nodding. "Think he's using her as practice for his future kid?"
"Possibly." I shrugged. "But he loves her, so if he wants to babysit for the day without me having to ask him. I'll let him." I finally looked at the bike. "So was it damaged at all?"
"Nah." He shook his head.
"What do you think happened to the people that took it from you?" I asked him. "You think the Saviors killed them?" He didn't answer me with words but he did grunt. "I'm sorry. You saved them and they turned out to be assholes, but it's who you are. You save people."
"Nah." He shook his head again. "I should've killed 'em." His eyes found mine ad I shifted my position on the steps. "The ones that took you and Maggie. What did they do to ya?"
"Nothing." I answered him, and he shot me a look as if he didn't believe me. "They didn't do anything." I assured him. "I annoyed the hell out of one of them. She punched me, hit me once with her gun, and slashed my leg. But that was it." I shrugged. "They mostly talked a big game. Clearly, they didn't win their fight."
"Ya gave 'em hell.." He commented.
"You know I did." I smirked.
"That fire. Is that how ya took 'em out?" Daryl questioned.
"Yes and No." I stated while frowning. "A crew came to help them after I killed them. I locked the crew in a room and burned them alive. Maggie and I were forced to listen to their screams as they died."
"M'sorry."
"It's fine. We made it out that's what matters." I told him and he grunted again. I sighed. "Sometimes I feel like I'm a monster."
